 How to install Bootsplash?

I am bran new to Kubuntu and I was wondering if you could explain or send me to a website that explains step-by-step how I can get the "Lizard Bootsplash for openSUSE" installed and working on my computer. The link to the bootsplash mentioned above is: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Lizard+Bootsplash+for+openSUSE?content=86476

I like this bootsplash very, very, very, MUCH! I really want to use it. Please help if you have the time and thank you so much!

Download the file, unzip it and copy the folder that got extracted to /etc/bootsplash/themes.

Now start Yast and go to the "editor for etc/sysconfig files" module under the System category.

On the left list, choose System > Boot > THEME and change theme in the combo box in the right section :)

If your new theme is not listed there, simply enter the name of the folder you copied.

Now, save everything and reboot your computer.

TADA! :p

Oops... I just realised you were using Kubuntu.
Well, Kubuntu is using Splashy... so Bootsplash themes are not compatible with it, sadly.

I sent a message this morning and it's fixed already (less than 3 hours, I think). :) Thanks, kde-look folks! :)

 Can you theme?

Are you an artistic themer? Do you know KDE or GNOME like the back of your hand?
Create your best theme, for either KDE or GNOME, and submit it to KDE-Look.org, then post a link on the forum below, or email us: contact@imagicos.com. The selected theme(s) will get used for the next version of iMagic OS, and the owners get a free copy!

 KDE 4 taskbar - 2 rows

 by blaster999 on: Sep 24 2008

Score 50%

Hi all!

I was playing around with Kde 4.1 in VirtualBox and was wondering if it's possible to make the task bar show 2 rows of window buttons (like KDE3's taskbar can). Now it seems that no matter how high the panel is the taskbar buttons representing the windows are in a single row. This is a real disappointment, as I'm kinda used to the fact my taskbar can display twice the normal number of windows.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
