What size?? Filesize or image?? Arright, doesn't matter...
To change filesize without changing imagesize, you gotta compress it... when saving image in GIMP (i suppose you have it) in PNG/JPEG, you're given an option of compression...
If you need to resize it, open a new window in GIMP with a needed resolution, copy here an image, and then simply use a resize tool...

Can anybody tell me what wallpaper is there on the screenshot: http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Prayertimes+Plasmoid?content=73395?
I used to have it before a system crush, and I'd like to get it again.

Thanks in advance.

 KDE3

Hi

I've made a pic of a very 90s bootscreen I wish for splash screen use with it stretching to the screen and scrolling the gradient bar at the bottom to the left

http://openarena.ws/crap/kdeboot.gif

I can't code though and i've been told it takes C knowledge to code splash screens :(

In addition I want to make KDE3 be themed to look just like the old DOS program, DCK
http://leileilol.mancubus.net/doom/dckinterface.png

I've already did the typeface.

There is different bootsplash engines, example, ubuntu use usplash, but if I'm correct, others use different way. Example, Mandriva has graphical tool to make splash screens. You only give background images, resize the areas where information is shown and where the silent mode progress bar is shown, what size + color etc and then you just make it. But it cant be exported to others.

It is sad thing. :-/

KDE start splash is easy to do with moodengine. But because you want that boot splash it might be needed to code few different way.
What comes to 90's kind GUI, just trowh CDE or Windows style and play littlebit with color schemas and you get it. Then just add a kde applications menu to top etc.

KDE is made for users by users....
What can you give back to others?

 plasma theme - taskbar

by silencer on: Jun 9 2008

Hi! According to plasma documentation, when you create a plasma theme for the taskbar, you can specify backgrounds for:

# focus: background of focused task item
# hover: background when the pointer hovers the task item
# attention: background when tasks item is trying to get attention
# normal: background of normal, unfocused task item

but... what about minimized windows? Their task item always appears without any decoration (I mean, with transparent background). Is there any way to specify the background of minimized items?

thanks a lot!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
