 Looking for designer

Hi!

We are a successful development team for a popular GPL product named PHPSurveyor. Its a web tool to do surveys in a controlled enviroment. Our downloaded installations are around 150 per day with peaks of 3000 at release days. Since we would like to overhaul the UI we would like to replace the curent icons inside the product (only administration panel).

You can see the current administration panel here:

http://www.phpsurveyor.org/demo/admin/admin.php

The copyright status of the current icons is , lets say, unknown so we are eager to replace these. The new icons should be GPL too and around the same size as the existing ones.

It is important that this person is reliable and willing to to the complete tak not just one or two icons and then duck and run. We would like to have it look coming from one design.

If you are interested and want to see your icons in an actual product please contact me at [casz at gmx dot de]

Thank you!

Carsten

Oh yeah, and thanks for a great product people! Regarding the university project, we actually used it - hence my reply here :) We made a survey for testing the Danish web community Arto, and the response has been absolutely overwhelming... 2504 responses in about a week (and considering this is mainly teenagers, well... that's a lot ;) ). Your tool has enabled us to actually handle this huge amount of data with no hassle at all, compared to, say, a paper-based survey or even one using that traditional form/email/manual data entry system that other groups on our course have used. Thanks guys!

I'm searching for testers, developers, artists, and packagers interested in working with Q/KStyles. I.E., KDE themes. If you've always been interested in theming or designing mockups and putting it to code, email me for details. I'm in desperate need of more project personnel.

i've got some decent feedback so far, what i think i'm really really missing is one person to look at some screenshots of some mockups and actual implementation i've got right now, and say "i like the way you're headed, i'll hack on it with you..."

?

Hi maiture:)
how r u doing?, u know i though about it, i think that a decgen kind solution for styles would be the best just because it will be much faster, i allways wonder how the pixmaps based themes in kde r working the way i see it needs to load the images for any app or window and that would be painfully s-l-o-w while in deKorator i only load the images when kwin starts or when config is changed, so u see what i mean? it will be much slower unless u gonna load the images way back, i wonder is there a factory class for the styles as well?

PEACE!!!

yea sure i'd be glad to, though i need to work a little bit on deKorator release but after that i'm all yours, i need to look at the pixmaps based engine of kde to see how it actually loads the images? does it loads them every time it paints a window, or if there is an earlier point that it loads the images and just pass them to the right functions when needed?

cheers

 Please, take care!

Hello KDE Developers!

Getting out of the current subject, I'm here JUST to ask the KDE Developers to take care in the KDE 4 design in the windows part and the buttons mainly!

First: I wouldn't like that the KDE 4 had, by default, the maximize the windows and the manual resize, because it may cause a distortion in the majority of windows. In my opinion, a desktop loses credit with it.

Second: The size of buttons. A thing that I appreciate in a desktop window is this kind of details, I would like that the KDE 4 had the SAME SIZE for buttons in a determined window. I think that it helps to make a more confortable and light window, but I don't know if it has importance for the other members of here.

KDE 3.5 is veeeeery beautiful, and I think it's the best desktop, and I resolved to put it here just to contribute with my opninion in the KDE 4 development.

Also, I don't know if I put this in the right place, if not, please, I ask someone to change for the proper place.

Thanks for all :D

Just KDE!

1) Give me an example of a window where maximize/resize causes distorition.
2) I agree, as long as it's optional. Many people use a resolution of 800×600 and this would be deadly for them.

 QSClient 1.2 RC1 ...

by informix on: Feb 28 2006

Score 50%

... as I said. RC1 is available, so just download and try.

And now Im posting here in the forum cause my Client needs testers!

There is a linux and windows version out there.

I guess everybody to take an eye on rdpexec nxexec and sshexec protocolls and test qsc-files using the wiondows and linux client - You will be impressed. Especially the pptp-client is very advanced now, just click on an pptp-qsc file and on linux and windows you´ll get a nice tray-icon as long as the vpn-connection is up.

IPSec and OpenVPN Connections will follow next, along with a new plugin-system and plugin-examples.

so head over to http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=29637 and try it.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
