is it fair that Softpedia.com scrapes kde-apps.org and will republish software like it was originally posted there, without ever linking kde-apps.org...?

I'm slightly worried that people could end up posting comments and bug reports there, and i'll never see them because I only check the kde-apps.org page.

 MakingConvertingApp

Hi. I am making a KDE app for converting units of electricity back and forth. I have already finished the GUI with QtDesigner. This is the screenshot: http://img341.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ec2nk5.png
I need some sample code (C++) or an explanation or tutorial that would allow me to convert from one unit to another upon selecting the ConvertFrom and ConvertTo units in each TreeView and inputing a value in the left input box; so that I get a result in the right input box.
BTW; Ignore the MUSIC button and the spinbox: they will be removed when finished.
Thanks for your help.

 sh;edit-single-lines

Hi,
i'm making a shell script for automated installation of kde theme (that changes a lot of stuff), and i have a problem with Konsole themes' background image address: when i'm replacing "/home/my-username" with $HOME in that address, it just doesn't find image, so I guess i gotta include in install script some code, that will replace a single image-address line in konsole theme file...
The question is, HOW??

Include a template for that Konsole theme file in you package that looks like this:

[...]
blah
foo=@bar@
blah
[...]

now you can call something like

sed -i "s/@bar@/$HOME/" <konsolethemefile>

to replace @bar@ with the contents of $HOME.

actually

sed -i "s,@bar@,$HOME," <konsolethemefile>

would be better since there are always slashes in pathes.

 New KDE 3.5 theme

Hi,

I´ve put a experimental KDE theme up called PastelVerde, surprisingly enough featuring gentle green shades. It´ś a 74kB .kth file but since I´m a newbie to this site I´m not sure if it´ś uploaded.

All feedback welcome, I´m looking to get it finished to a standard like the others on this site - direct link is:

Hi,
I would like to know how to get the source code of kde applications -- espectially Kmail. The one I have running is for KDE3. I am looking forward to compiling Kmail for KDE4.

Thanks,
Kanwar

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
