PyQt v4 is a comprehensive set of Python bindings for Qt v4 and v5. It is available under the GPL and a commercial license.

This is mainly a bug-fix release but also adds support for Qt v4.8.7.

This is fantastic news. A proper cross platform scripted GUI environment which actually cuts it. One really simple question though. Will there be an eric4 coming soon to support development using it?

You can use eric3 to develop PyQt4 programs. Just select one of the non-Qt debuggers as the default debugger. That is the way I am developing eric4. And yes, there will be an eric4 but not soon because the Qt4 port of Scintilla is needed first and that has just been started by Phil.

Thank you so much for your work on PyQt! You have no idea how helpful this module is for me! :)

 PyQt3 vs. PyQt4

by trisz on: Mar 18 2010

Python Qt3 was a good programming tool, but PyQt4 was/is not. I hope this release fixes some mayor bugs.
I tried to create a graphics viewer, but the whole applications was a big workaround with different behavior on the different python Qt4 versions and on different operation systems.

The matrix transformation with fixed central point prevent the translation. (The translation is not a transformation with a central point.)
Mouse events interfere with each other. The event variable behaves like a static global variable.
Switching between the transformation anchor modes is not possible. The user must drag the picture after every switching to take any effect.
Python Qt reports the same size of widgets with and without frame.
Programming is very disappoing using python Qt4.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
