Description:

Boomaga (BOOklet MAnager) is a virtual printer for viewing a document before printing it out using the physical printer.

The program is very simple to work with. Running any program, click “print” and select “Boomaga” to see in several seconds (CUPS takes some time to respond) the Boomaga window open. If you print out one more document, it gets added to the previous one, and you can also print them out as one.

Regardless of whether your printer supports duplex printing or not, you would be able to easily print on both sides of the sheet. If your printer does not support duplex printing, point this out in the settings, and Booklet would ask you to turn over the pages half way through printing your document.

The program can also help you get your documents prepared a bit before printing. At this stage Boomaga makes it possible to:

* Paste several documents together.
* Print several pages on one sheet.
* 1, 2, 4, 8 pages per sheet
* Booklet. Folding the sheets in two, you’ll get a book.

Changelog:

Version 0.2.0
* Added the option for reverse printing.
* Optimized start the prgram.
* Added message when printing.
* Fixed backend for Mageia 2.
* Increased speed if only one document.
* Added progress bar for long operations.
* Reduced memory usage, libsnappy compression used for the rendered images.
* Support the sizes of sheets other than A4.

The preferences item should not work, now the program hasn't pref dialog at all. I forgot to hide the menu item. I'll hide this item in the new release, I plan to release 0.2 soon.

>I dont see the document in the preview area (i have only a grey window)
Now I'm installing Mageia in the virtual machine, I try to reproduce the problem. But you can help me - the program writes the errors to the /var/log/cups/error_log, please look at it.

The output of /var/log/cups/error_log

W [27/Feb/2013:06:15:26 +0100] failed to find device: cups-Boomaga_Printer
W [27/Feb/2013:06:15:32 +0100] failed to CreateProfile: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply:Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.
W [27/Feb/2013:06:15:32 +0100] failed to find device: cups-HP-Photosmart-5520-series
E [27/Feb/2013:06:24:54 +0100] [cups-deviced] PID 6116 (mga_backend) stopped with status 1!

And in the config-system-printer utility, when i try to print a test page in boomaga printer i have this message:
Idle - Failed to open connection to "session" message bus: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-vbgCOG5iEY: Connection refused

The problem is with systemd and the file system namespaces - http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:RTHmpgzGAL8J:0pointer.de/blog/projects/changing-roots.

I've corrected this in the git, please try the new version.

Ok i tested it it works fine now in Mageia 2 too.
I prepared a rpm:
http://www.mageia-gr.org/rpm/2/x86_64/boomaga-0.1.0-1mgr2.x86_64.rpm
it is the git version c37b122caa
To install it to Mageia 2 , it needs another rpm now which it is nt available in Mageia 2, and i packaged it too:
http://www.mageia-gr.org/rpm/2/x86_64/snappy-1.1.0-1mgr2.x86_64.rpm
http://www.mageia-gr.org/rpm/2/x86_64/snappy-devel-1.1.0-1mgr2.x86_64.rpm

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
