Submitted:  Aug 9 2006

Description:

FALF Player is open source audio player for Unix-like operating systems (Linux, BSD, etc.). General idea is to keep player as simple as possible. One the one hand it should be free of useless crap that can be found in Amarok, on the other hand it should take the best ideas from foobar2000 and mix them with additional ideas that make work with audio player even more convenient. I'm also focused on stability and attempt to provide users with stable solutions even in svn repository.

Highlights:
- multiplaylist support
- lyrics support
- m3u support
- last.fm support
- HTTP streams support (radio)
- built-in tags' editor
- built-in equalizer
- easy transfer of tracks to removable device
- customizable accelerators
- high stability
- low memory consumption

Requirements:
- xine-lib http://www.xine-project.org
- taglib http://developer.kde.org/~wheeler/taglib.html
- qt http://www.trolltech.com/
- kde http://kde.org

Most recent source code available via svn:
svn co https://falf.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/falf falf-svn

IMPORTANT!
When migrating from 1.2 or earlier version there is need to load metadata for already added tracks. This can be done from main menu:
Settings->Reload metadata...

Post Your suggestion, bug's report and inquiry only on official sf.net forum. Everything posted here will remain unanswered.

Again another senseless pushing of your application ... nothing new, but you are standing again at the top of the list ... Chappo!

Why is this nessasarry? I have nothing against your app, but this behavior is not only needless, it is also unsocial!

Yes ... you can't do anything against it. No easy way to complain to admins ...

I also wonder about the words "brand new" in the description! What is "brand new"? I see this app now for a long time ... so it isn't really new anymore :-D

What's your point?? I don't understand. Users of other applications complain that new versions come up too rarely (for example skype) and you complain that it comes up too often! It's ridiculous! You don't have to update it whenever it shows up on kde-apps! I know why you say so. You're not the users- you don't have the slightest idea what has changed in new version! Why is it so wrong that application is being changed frequently? And when it comes to "brand new"- one year I think it is not so long for application to exist. And this description was made at the very beginning so why change it? (FALF Player is old, written from scratch music player for K Desktop Environment). So, simply, if you're fed up with FALF at the top of kde-apps simply ignore it, or if you're a user, just read the changelog- if you think nothing special has been changed - don't update!

 nice app

I really like the feature of tabbed playlists. And some advices: put all controls in toolbars. Also some controls are too small for localized strings

gentoo ebuild is available as a part of non7top overlay http://non7top.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/overlay/

i left non7top overlay in favour of arcon overlay. so gentoo users can just install arcon overlay via layman (layman -a arcon) and get an updated ebuild

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
