Description:

This is a little KDE Service Menu that calls the *nix 'file' command to retrieve Mime information from files, and presents it inside a standard KDE dialog.

Nice, but i think that kmime handles filetypes as good as file :) But as CLI fan i must say that this is useful.

I forgot to mention that GNU is not only one nix implementation. 'file' exists in other oses too!

Nice feedback, thanks. But that detail seems a little unforgivable for me, considering that I DO have a FreeBSD box at home!

this is a normal kdialog --msgbox "file -b image_file"...
i don't understamd your purpose..

Well, it's a service menu that executes that and prevents you from opening a konsole, looking for the file and executing 'file'.

Maybe the screenshot is not descriptive, but the output of 'file' is formatted into the kdialog.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
