First version of Firefox Quickstarter. It's only a modified version of MozillaQs and it might be plenty of bugs. Please try it and feel free to report your bugs and suggestions. It has been tested in Suse Linux 10.1 with Kde 3.5.7

Older versions and packages can be found in the official web page.

Rpm packages for many SUSE versions can be downloaded from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/finrold/

* Added German, Italian, Polish and Turkish translations.

* Solved autostart bug.
* Added Firefox icon.
* Added spanish translation.

This version solves one bug:
* Firefox shows home directory instead of favorite page.

* Added a rpm for Fedora. Thanks bluehat
* Added a tgz package for Slackware 10.2. Thanks Slacky.it
* Added a rpm for Suse 9.3. Thanks linux3114a.

 Autostart prob

 by sede on: Oct 29 2007
Score 50%

The program worked first when I installed it. Then I'have taken it into my KDE autostart script. On the next startup it broke the Firefox, the browser window appeared for a second then quited. It happened every time now on, when I wanted to start Firefox. When I killed firefox-bin it was working again normally.

 problems and solving

I had the same problem as reported by sede on 10/29/2007. Here is what I did to solve it:

Instead of letting Firefox Quickstarter start automatically at boot time* I made a shortcut for Kicker that starts first Firefox and then Quickstarter.** When using this shortcut first time after booting, Firefox need the regular time for starting. Beginning from the second time Quickstarter works.

* The function 'start automatically with kde' didn't work for me anyway. I started it with ~/.kde/Autostart but it took much to long for starting and regularly it couldn't start Firefox.

** Here is the simple command I use:
firefox; firefoxqs
The order is important. If you would start firefoxqs first the shortcut wouldn't open Firefox when clicking on it first time after booting.

 make fails ver 0.1.3

Using VectorLinux 5.9rc1, which is based on slackware-current, the make process fails at the beginning. Here is the console output from the make process:

john:$ make
cd . && make -f admin/Makefile.common configure.in ;
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/john/firefoxqs/firefoxqs'
*** Creating configure.files
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/john/firefoxqs/firefoxqs'

The problem, as I see it, is that I'm being forced to use a specific version of aclocal and automake to generate the configure file for the admin directory. There should either be a more graceful way to tell me that I need a specific version of the automake tools, or there should be no check for a specific automake version.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
