KDE4 Entries for RSS & XScreenSaver

   2.0

KDE Screensaver

Score 62%
Link:  Link
Minimum required   KDE 4.x
Downloads:  697
Submitted:  Nov 4 2008
Updated:  Apr 8 2010

Description:

I found openSUSE had the Really Slick Screen Saver GLX packages (rss-glx), but it was the missing service entries for KDE4 that actually allowed you to select them. I went ahead and created two new groups: One for Really Slick Screensavers and another for omitted XScreenSaver entries.

Extract files into /usr/share/kde4/services/ScreenSaver, then preview and select them in the Desktop configuration control.

Changelog:

Added photopile, skytentacles and pixelcity

 Useful stuff!

I did however some changes to your find_missing.sh script:
grep -rl -> grep -rlw (otherwise it confused KEuphoria with euphoria)
/usr/lib64/ -> /usr/lib/
/bin/sh -> /bin/bash (because of [[...]])

And .desktop files for Photopile and SkyTentacles screensavers are still missing.

 It finally works!

THANK YOU! I was having trouble getting not only the Really Slick collection to work on my Kubuntu 10.04 + KDE 4.5 install but also the Electric Sheep screensavers. I was being told to put the .desktop files into another location but when I put them in /usr/share/kde4/services/ScreenSavers.I'm finally able to use both of my favorite screensaver collections. I owe you a brew!

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
