Description:

A small application that docks in the systray and monitors the activity of the selected network interface.
It also monitors the link status - could detect if a networking cable is attached to the nic or not...
Supports session management, and runs on next logins. Support auto device remove/insert.

* To rebuild from source run ./autogen.sh in the root package folder.

Requires linux 2.4 or 2.6

Many thanks to Anthony Mercatante for doing a package for ubuntu/kubuntu breezy.
Many thanks to Jorge Sanz for doing debian package and providing nice tips about release packaging.
Thanks to all others for support and various patches/suggestions

This one vs knemo ... kde4?

by dovidhalevi on: Jul 11 2008

I have been using knemo for ages for this purpose. While this works fine even under kde4, I would like to replace it with a "plasmoid" or at least a kde4 (qt4,dbus, not dt3,dcop) version

knetdocapp rocks! I was looking for something like it for years and now, I have been using it for around two years - almost every day. It does almost exactly what I want it to do. The persistent tool-tip is great and the graph in the panel is really cool.

There are two small bugs:

1) The graph always starts at zero instead of at the oldest remaining value. This looks like a classic "off by one" error.

2) When I have the knetdocapp window displayed near the bottom of my screen, tool tips from the panel (kde 4.3.5) cover parts of the window. Often, when they disappear, the window does not redraw itself and has gaping holes in it which show the desktop image.

I hope you will continue to support and develop this application. I don't know of anything like it.

Thanks.

Joe
