Nice Idea, but its not working for me.
A lot of *.h files are not found, kdelibs5-dev is installed (Kubuntu, KDE 4.5)

Yeah, kate doesn't ship its own headers. You have to grab kdesdk from subversion, build kate, install it, then do the plugin. I might try my hand at a deb package for the plugin in the future, we'll see.

Thanks for giving it a shot.

on Ubuntu Maverick with kate 3.5.5

Great plugin! I used it on Ubuntu Natty but now I'm back to Maverick, which doesnt have it included by default. Maverick runs Kate 3.5.5

Got it going on Maverick using kate-dev from Natty's repo. (Maverick had no kate-dev in its repo). http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/devel/kate-dev

sudo dpkg -i -force-all kate-dev_4.6.2-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

Needed to install kdelibs5-dev and cmake first.

after running cmake and make succesfully, I purged kate-dev from my system as aptitude was complaining about it:
sudo aptitude purge kate-dev

Kickass plugin. Thanks!

Hi, I'm glad you like the plugin :) I really suggest updating to the latest kate as soon as you can, even if you have to build from git. There are some bugs with the plugin uploaded here, and it has since been made the default file view in kate, and requires some changes to kate to do that, so it's harder to pull out a stand-alone version.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
