Description:

On May 31, 2010, the Longene team realesed its crucial product, Longene 0.3. This new release has fully eliminated Wineserver, the request to wineserver now is turned to system call, so that its performance has been substantially improved. Longene still depends on dlls and some programs of Wine.

Longene is a modified linux kernel which based on Linux, ReactOS, Wine and other opensource projects. It adds Win32 subsystem of Windows into the Linux kernel to support both Linux and Windows applications.

Here follows data of a testing performance of Longene 0.3 with Wine\\\'s used as control:

Testing environment:

Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @2.60GHz

You're fucking kidding us right ?
I knew some people were working on such a thing already (heard of a guy at my school that wished to do something like this, so yeah, why not ?)... but seriously... RIGHT NOW ? Linux and ReactOS kernels ? All at once ?
Now that would be awesome. Once it's stable of course.

 Unified Kernel?

OT: Let's limit the use of -uck words in these postings, please.

How does Longene relate to the Linux Unified Kernel project (out of China!)? There's works with a patched wine (why it is a pain) and kernel patches for windows kernel-level calls. They also rely on reactOS.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
