Lyrics Workshop is a multipurpose and multiserver lyrics manager for Amarok 2 designed to help overcome language barriers.

Any suggestion and bug reports are welcome and can be sent to "kde at aynoa dot net". If you want translate Lyrics Workshop to your language contact me at the same address.

Many options are planned but current version of Lyrics Workshop has the following features:

- multiple search engines (currently GOO, Evesta, CIX, Sogou and Lyric Wiki)
- manual lyrics search
- repeat search for local or internet files can be configured
- search dialog with automatic close on change song or stop play
- instrumental songs support
- basic name equivalences system (for romanized Asian names or for diferent spellings of a name such as "ELO" and "Electric Ligth Orchestra")
- lyrics translation (using Google)
- kanji lyrics conversion to kana and rōmaji (using tatoeba.org or yomoyomo.jp)
- hangul lyrics conversion to romaja
- configurable cache of translations, conversions and lyrics for offline mode support
- cache can be edited and saved (lyrics cache are read only)
- configuration dialog with save and load methods
- automatic language detection
- external translation files
- menu where you can add keyboard shortcuts

TODO list:

- change cache options: Disabled (current unchecked), Enabled for collection (new, default?), Enabled to all (current checked)
- option to select translation language from "Text Dialog"
- option to select conversion server from "Text Dialog"
- enable search engine selection in "Search Dialog"
- search engines plugin system
- enable or disable search engines and custom prioritization
- sogou search engine improvement (seems to be a couple of render bugs and encoding problems)
- add all yomoyomo.jp languages supported (korean, russian and arabic)
- menu option could be enabled/disabled in configuration dialog
- lrc basic & enhanced format support and karaoke display mode
- improved equivalences db (QWebDatabase broken in Amarok?, sqlite, xml or plain text?)
- automatic usage of equivalences on search fail (configurable)
- automatic addition of equivalences on search success (configurable)
- redesing of "Text Dialog" to avoid closing on repeat operation
- ...

COULD BE list:
- an engine like GLyrics as last search option
- format toolbar in text edition dialog
- external editor and viewer for cache file
- cache support for multiple language translations
- other languages romanization
- song name equivalences
- automatic search of available languages in Google Translation service
- lrc conversion, from and to normal lyrics
- option to close al open forms on song change
- ...

Know problems & limitations:
- Amarok sometimes refuse save lyrics with Asian characters
- Amarok calls two times Amarok.Lyrics.fechLyrics() on play first song

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
