This is a nice plasmoid - Thank You !

"when in slideshow mode"

Here with the Kubuntu Jaunty Jackalope (alpha-1) it seems to work even when wallpaper is in the image mode.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, it is a known issue. Image and Slideshow use the same plugin and I have not yet found a way to tell which is the used one. I should note this on the description.

 non-slideshow

That's great! Now I can use your widget to change my wallpaper via a servicemenu and just have to click your widget afterwards to see the new wallpaper (without the need to have a slideshow)! Thanks!

On KDE 4.4 you will be able to simply drop the wallpaper to the desktop.

But, what exactly does your servicemenu do anyway? :)

> But, what exactly does your servicemenu do anyway? :)

With a dirty trick of some file copying and a fixed name for the wallpaper I am now able to change the wallpaper via a picture's context menu in dolphin (and the picture for the splash and kdm). The new wallpaper just isn't shown until I relogin (or open the wallpaper configuration dialog and confirming it without changing something).

Now after choosing the new wallpaper in dolphin I just need to click on your widget to immediately see the new wallpaper on the desktop without the need to relogin or open the wallpaper configuration dialog.

I don't think it's a solution "for the masses". The servicemenu and a german explanation is here:

 keyboard shortcut not working

I tried to set the keyboard short cut for this applet. I installed it from kubuntu jaunty repository. But the shortcut is not working. It will be good if can control it via a keyboard short cut so that I do not have to click.

Hi,
I have edited the source files to make it use keyboard shortcuts.

Link to patch http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jy2mm1jnqqn

Its created against the source files downloaded from here.

Thanks
Jithin Emmanuel

Can you please add a tooltip? All other starter and widgets in the panel have a tooltip just yours is "silent".

How about a more meaningful icon that shows a changing wallpaper?

Something like this maybe:

I don't think so. But let's see what Plasma/Qt brings for 4.4. Hopefully, better layouts.

 Great, but...

Really love this plasmoid thanks However, it unfortunately doesn't seem to work when plasma is configured to have a different activity per desktop.
I have one desktop set up with a slideshow and the other just a single image. with the plasmoid on the desktop for the slideshow desktop clicking it does nothing.

Look forward to future releases

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
