Minimum required   Kommander
Downloads:  562
Submitted:  Mar 10 2006
Updated:  Mar 12 2006

Description:

This script can be used to:
1: Create 1024 bit passwordless dsa keys.
2: Send key to remote server via scp.
3: Create remote .ssh directory and move key to authorized_keys file.
This will allow you to login to remote server via ssh or run automated
rsync backups. You need openssh, bash and expect installed for this
to work. Optionally you can create an executeButton with the following
format for a one click remote server login.
The format:
konsole -e ssh -i /your/path/toyour-key remoteusername"@"remotehost_or_ip

Changelog:

No changes yet but taking suggestions.
1.01 chaged expect script to detect wider variety of prompts.
1.02 Added graphics and changed expect script yet again to detect more prompts.

 enter password once

i suggest to implement a more secure way by using passwords with the keys and together with ssh-agent/keychain enter the password only once per boot and you also get passwordless logins...

There are 10 types of people. Those who understand binary and the rest.

This is my first script and I had a heck of a time just getting this to work. If you have a better way please post the code and we can put it in. I have learned alot doing this one and may post some more as time permits.. It was fun.

Look at my qsclient:

Putty SSH Keygen and Import tool available in both windows and linux version.

The ssh keys are used in putty winscp and all ssh-pased qs protocols:

shexec (silenly execute remote commands)
xexec (x11-forwarding execution)
sshexsec (execute app/cmd with putty)
stunnel (open a tunnel with a single click)
scp/fish (jep , just copy)

and many more.

sfx exe for windows and linux. installable on usb-stick, tested, clean and wairing for comments :)

I need help to improve the expect prompt part of this script to enable it to work with different prompts.
So if anyone out here knows expect please let me know how to do this.
I have noticed it won't work with some varying prompts.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
