kicker applet for ding libraries. does not require ding (but grep ;) you can get a package of dings from the gnome-ding project (button in the config dialog) usage is simple: either hover the applet and start typing after the bar appears or select a text with the mouse and leftclick the applet supports independent default languages for the click and the type search, acces to multiple dictionaries (including thesaurus), reverse search and a nice frontend including a skinnable applet icon the most probably result is exposed, any other can be clicked to be placed in the label todo: code cleanup, kspell support

- fix for the text formatting (on multi results)
put the diff.bz2 intothe kding dir, bunzip2 it and call
patch -p1 < kding-0.3-0.3.1.diff

- detection of double entries (ding dicts sometimes two entries that are identical in e.g german but different in english, in case they are the probable ones, both are displayed - try e.g. "hund")
- support for custom colors
- selectable and draggable text in the result label
- better detection of the most probable result
- fixed thesaurus display
- basic kspell support
- improved positioning and sizing

(patch 0.3 to 0.3.1)

Just run configure with --prefix=/path/to/kde/
This helped in my case. However kding 0.3.1 crashes kicker everytime I try to insert it. I use SuSe 9.3 Professional with KDE 3.4. If you want I can submit you the backtrace.

Thanks. The problem with adding kding is solved. But I got the same problem as you, kicker crashes.

 crashes / name

When I add it to kicker kicker crashes (Kanotix/Debian Sid). BTW: There are two apps named kding. Wouldn't it be wise to communicate and either work together or rename the apps? -> http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=28386

Want excellent hardware recognition and an easy way to install Debian Sid? Get KANOTIX!

This app looks really great :) Do you plan to release a version for KDE 3.5?

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
