Description:

Impulse is the first Amarok Visualization Applet!
Impulse allows you to see audio spectrum in context view.

This applet is based on Impulse Screenlets. Thanks to Impulse Screenlets Developers, I could release this applet.

Depends on
libpulse (=PulseAudio. You have to use PulseAudio to use this applet.)
libfftw3

Yes, it is same as Impulse Screenlets :)
You also need these header files ([packagename]-dev in Ubuntu) when you compile this.

Installation

Currently, the way to get this applet work is the only one: to compile from source.

You may know how to compile Amarok from source, so I explain only something important.
If you don't know how, please read this: http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Compiling:2.0

Well, when you download and extract this applet, you should find impulse folder. Please move this folder into Amarok source: "amarok-[version]/src/context/applet/".

And open "amarok-[version]/src/context/applet/CMakeLists.txt" and add a new line:"add_subdirectory( impulse )".

Then, compile Amarok.
After compiling and installing, You may find Impulse in applet selector(I don't know real name :p)

Enjoy impulse! :)

[Version 0.0.1] The initial release!

Great idea, I look forward for other visualisations ;)

And little offtopic question: could you share your bespin config? It looks really nice and elegant.

Thank you :)
I can't use my PC now, so I'll upload my bespin config after I get an environment I can use it.

hi, i compiled impulse, added it to the amarok applets display (dont know the name), changed settings, from 20 to 80 bars and back, but the song isnt visualized, and yes im using pulse audio.

any ideas? is there any way to see ahy output in the debug log (what to look for).

kubuntu 10.04, kde rc 4.5 rc2, qt 4.7 beta2 + git, amarok 2.x compiled from git of today.

best regards.

um..
I can't develop impulse for a while, so I can't update impulse for a feature to debug now.
If you used git version of Amarok, try to use stable version instead.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
