 Been around 4ever

This thing has been around for ever, since like the DOS days. And it has always been unstable. I remember the Windows version would crash Windows to a halt (ok, thats not unique for that platform).

In spite of what the author thinks, he'll never be able to make this stable and fully functional on his own.
After all he has been working on this for years. It's really strange - he keeps adding support for more platforms but he's never been able to create a version that performs really well.

I agree with the other comments; the author needs to reevaluate the benefits he would get from open sourcing it.
Of course, with all the years he's invested in this it would be hard to let others touch and improve his code.

I'm sceptical. After all these years of unfulfilled promises, can we really say this application "holds promise" ?

Well, perhaps Pixel *has* been around for quite some time ... but I've only now discovered it. I found a DOS-based version, .996E, and I'm astounded by its style, its beauty, and its power ... words fail me ... my version is shareware, and should anyone wish to sell their registered, DOS-based, English version to me (as Pavel no longer appears to sell the DOS version), please contact me. Thanks.

I would love to get my hands on a fully
working DOS version of Pixel that is able to run
on both 16 & 32 bit DOS.
DOS has some advantages over windows, you
can write it to a CF flash chip and move it
from computer to computer by just simply
removing the chip and plugging it into another
computer. Works well with DOS, difficult for
windows and impossible for xp an above.

I've only just discovered Pixel ... the DOS-based version ... and, without agreeing or disagreeing with all/any of the comments posted here, I'd like to type that ***if anyone wants to sell their registered copy of DOS-based, English Pixel***, I'd like to purchase it! I've found version .996E ... shareware ... I think that it's GREAT! ... but I *like* to support software authors (Pavel doesn't appear to be selling the DOS-based version of Pixel anymore), and, ONE way of supporting'em is to *use registered software*. 'Course, I'd *rather* give the money to Pavel ... but ... well, thanks. Anyone has a copy-for-sale, please contact me.

 pixel's future

I believe that the author is going to take this application to his grave and nobody would remember him or it. This editor is never going to be stable, never going to be usefull or avaiable. Moreover,as things go,gimp's GUI is going to look alot like it in the future, thats the only thing that makes it interesting piece of software atm.

But if the author believes that he is capable of winning money with something that is not even stable forever, more that he might win from donations and the work of other developers,so be it. I dont even feel sorry for the chap

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
