Description:

This is a shell script that converts a flat (i.e. conventional) jpeg image to 3d version. It has a Kommander GUI that allows the user to select either a single file or all jpegs in a folder. The script from the command line is currently more flexible allowing a choice of colour for the background whilst the Kommander script defaults to ivory. The package also includes a simple read me. The 3 sample pictures are the original image, then two versions, one with a transparent background (a png also reduced in resolution for this example only) and one with a background (lavender in this case for clarity on the web page). This is my 1st ever script released to the world, so please be gentle!

 3D

I guess what threw me was that it is not a 3D image, but a standard 3D effect that makes it look like the image is mounted on a 3D material. Which it does well. Should be handy for those who are not able to do it manually, or want to save time.

I was also confues what kind of "3d" this app do with my picture ;)

Anyway, if you did you logic in bash script it will be great if it could by called on picture directly from krusader, or konqueror via service menu.

Anyway nice app.

Thanks for the kind words, From what I've seen I think a Konqueror service menu should be quite straight forward.. we'll see

I also found the 3D bit confusing - I was expecting a panorama applet or something.

Could I suggest PhotoBevel or PhotoFrame or something like that?

 Script

There is no need to include or put the additional script in your path. Simply add the contents of the script into the kommander text of the desired execute button. Of course the script will need modification to include the kommander format.

Have a look at some of the other kommander scripts on this site.

Kommander is VERY powerful and you have just scratched the surface.

Good luck

The best way after you get a little time under your belt is to look at other scripts. Kommander documentation seems to be lacking but an email was sent from the list a few days ago saying that the documentation is being rewritten.

Here are a few links to have a look at.

 Mandriva 2007 rpm

Hi all!

This is great script!

I made rpm package for Mandriva 2007 - when installed a shortcut to the script appears in Mandriva's Multimedia-Graphics menu. You can get the rpm from here:

Cheers!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
