    Changelog:

The KMess team announces the availability of a new KMess point release: KMess 2.0.6.1, the newest version of the Live Messenger (MSN) client, powered by the KDE platform. As usual with our 2.0 point releases, it contains a lot of bug fixes, but also general improvements, and even some new features. Here is a quick highlight of the changes in this new version:

Added tabs to the Contact Added User dialog.
Added a fading effect when switching between the initial view and the contact list.
Fixed login issues due to changes in the MSN protocol.
Fixed possible crashes with the Contact Added User dialog.
Fixed retrieval of display pictures from the online MSN storage.
    Various other smaller fixes...

    Thanks for the advice.

There are a lot of interesting features we could implement. Too bad I have to make a choice now. I have some other msn protocol features planned too. Hold on! ;-)

As for SIP support, it appears many projects incorporate the LinPhone source code in their projects. I have my vote for KCall (http://www.basyskom.de/index.pl/kcall) now, once they have a stable kde-based library we can used directly. :-)

Finally a good msn messenger for kde! I like it. However, I think it really needs to be themeable. As in, change the backgrounds for the messenger and chat windows. It looks really bad for people who have dark kde schemes. I'd like to be able to change the background...or something. Or, make it like AMSN..where the program itself stays one color ( a default grayish). My desktop is a dark red..so the white parts are too off. I'm sure there's more important things that need to be done, but just a thought! :)

We see what we can do. I want to include many of the newer features from msn 6/7. Now that 1.4 is stable, this is the perfect time to start working on newer msn stuff. Some features do have more priority then wallpapers at the moment, but please be patient. ;-)

     HTTP method

Nice work, but using the MSN messenger at work (behind a firewall) I'm stuck with either Gaim (nice but doesn't fit with my KDE desktop at all) or amsn, which hasn't been updated since a long time and is a bit unstable on my system.

Any plans for implementing the HTTP method, or any other way to connect from behind a corporate firewall?

I didn't have plans for this feature yet, but I've added it to the TODO list.

Because there are other most-wanted features on the list too, those will likely be implemented first. I hope you understand this. :-)

How do you like Plasma 5?
     The best KDE Desktop ever.
     Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
