KMyMoney is the BEST Personal Finance Manager for Linux Users, full stop.

It operates similar to MS-Money, supports different account types, categorisation of expenses and incomes, reconciliation of bank accounts and QIF import/export. Online banking support (statement download) is also provided for the OFX and HBCI protocols.

In order to stay informed about new releases of the software, please subscribe to the user mailing list of the project. To subscribe please visit https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kmymoney and follow the instructions presented.

Please report any problems to the KDE bug-tracker at https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=kmymoney4&format=guided and use kmymoney4 as project as we cannot check this site (kde-apps.org) on a regular/frequent basis.

There's also a forum at http://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=69 where you can get help if needed.

The KMyMoney Team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of
KMyMoney version 4.6.4 [1][2]. This version contains quite a few fixes for bugs
found in 4.6.3 since it was released .

Here is a list of the most important changes since the last stable release:

* OFX files with UTF-8 data can now be imported correctly
* Fix displaying the 'Enter/Skip schedule' action icons in the homepage on
* Fixed the initial size of the schedule entry dialog in some use cases
* Fixed a hang in reports in some scenarios
* Fixed some Finance::Quote related problems on Windows
* Allow editing the memo of multiple transactions
* Fix schedule handling
* Make the QIF import on Windows usable
* Fix GnuCash file import
* Improve item navigation using the keyboard
* Scheduled transactions can now be correctly skipped or ignored when
automatic entry is enabled
* Fix the budgets that somehow still reference invalid accounts

For a full list of the changes please check out the changelog [3]. We highly
recommend upgrading to 4.6.2 as soon as possible. We would also recommend
packagers to endorse this version as their latest stable version of KMyMoney
due to the number of fixes available vs. 4.5.3. During this bugfix cycle a new
release of libalkimia was also made available.

Probably nothing wrong with Gnumeric except it's not a home finances program. KMymoney2 is a dedicated program for this purpose as per MSMoney or Quicken something which has been lacking in KDE [in my opinion].
You should be comparing it with Gnucash which is great but not KDE and a bit unweildy for a home situation
Check Mandrake RPMs out on
and you will see what I mean.

We do plan to support HBCI and OFX in future incarnations of KMyMoney but we have no timeline as yet, although preliminary support should be available in the next stable release; 0.8.

An announcement will be made on the website as soon as the functionality is available.

 KBudget and KmyMoney

Is there any way to combine this two programs to run together.

Kinda like how KDE 3.2 Kontact has incorporated all of the smaller apps (Korganizer, KAddressBook, Kmail) into one big app??

We are now looking at integrating KBudget's functionality into KMyMoney for our 0.8 release.

On a Mandrake 9.2 distro, Qt 3.1.2 & KDE 3.1.3, ./configure ran without errors, but make failed with this:

Any --option=value way around this?

This has been fixed in CVS head and will be fixed in the stable branch as well.

Workaround: edit the offending *.ui files (XML formatted) and replace the version "2" with "1" manually in one of the first lines. Rerun make.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
