Description:

KMyMoney is the BEST Personal Finance Manager for Linux Users, full stop.

It operates similar to MS-Money, supports different account types, categorisation of expenses and incomes, reconciliation of bank accounts and QIF import/export. Online banking support (statement download) is also provided for the OFX and HBCI protocols.

In order to stay informed about new releases of the software, please subscribe to the user mailing list of the project. To subscribe please visit https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kmymoney and follow the instructions presented.

Please report any problems to the KDE bug-tracker at https://bugs.kde.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=kmymoney4&format=guided and use kmymoney4 as project as we cannot check this site (kde-apps.org) on a regular/frequent basis.

There's also a forum at http://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=69 where you can get help if needed.

Changelog:

The KMyMoney Team is pleased to announce the immediate availability of
KMyMoney version 4.6.4 [1][2]. This version contains quite a few fixes for bugs
found in 4.6.3 since it was released .

Here is a list of the most important changes since the last stable release:

* OFX files with UTF-8 data can now be imported correctly
* Fix displaying the 'Enter/Skip schedule' action icons in the homepage on
Windows
* Fixed the initial size of the schedule entry dialog in some use cases
* Fixed a hang in reports in some scenarios
* Fixed some Finance::Quote related problems on Windows
* Allow editing the memo of multiple transactions
* Fix schedule handling
* Make the QIF import on Windows usable
* Fix GnuCash file import
* Improve item navigation using the keyboard
* Scheduled transactions can now be correctly skipped or ignored when
automatic entry is enabled
* Fix the budgets that somehow still reference invalid accounts

For a full list of the changes please check out the changelog [3]. We highly
recommend upgrading to 4.6.2 as soon as possible. We would also recommend
packagers to endorse this version as their latest stable version of KMyMoney
due to the number of fixes available vs. 4.5.3. During this bugfix cycle a new
release of libalkimia was also made available.

 QIF date choke

 by m1cr0phone on: May 12 2004

Score 50%

Er, why does KMyMoney2 insist on the European date format exclusively when importing QIF data? This effectively prevents me from importing my Moneydance transactions as I get the (very repetitious) dialog saying it couldn't convert the date.

Or am I missing something?

Please check the QIF-Profile and set it to any of the supported date formats.

Hi,

has this software got any reporting capabilities (such as an expense report for a time period)?

Thanks!

We have some reporting mechanism in place for our 0.8 release, you can see a preview in our current CVS. We only have a few report types currently, but we are working on expanding that for our next update.

 A question

by rossen on: Jun 23 2004

Score 50%

Hi!
Hmmm, nice compilation whitout even a single warning message... Except this one:

mymoneyfinancialcalculator.cpp: In method `const double MyMoneyFinancialCalculator::presentValue()':
mymoneyfinancialcalculator.cpp:184: implicit declaration of function `int round(...)'
make[4]: *** [mymoneyfinancialcalculator.o] Error 1

Is there someone who knows what's wrong? 10x!

Does this happen to show up on any Free/Net/OpenBSD? We have reports about this happening on this type of system, but don't know why? Apparently, the math library does not support the round/roundl function. If I'd only have access to such a box ...

Hi again!
I'm using Debian "woody", not *BSD...

I have tried to compile KMyMoney on freebsd 5.2.1-Release, and got similar error ( use of undefined function round())
There is no declaration for "double round(double)" function in FreeBSD's math.h (/usr/include/math.h), only for "long double roundl(long double)".

I'll try to write appropriate patch.

Looks like configure could not find your C++ compiler. Please verify, that it is in your $PATH.

Also, we have no experience with gcc < 3.1 or so, although we have some users working under MDK but I don't know which version of the compiler they are using.

If you have more questions, please post them on the developer list at kmymoney2-developer@lists.sourceforge.net. There you probably reach a wider audience than here on kde-apps.org.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
