Description:

This is a maintenance fork for the QuickAccess plasmoid. The author has seemingly stopped writing the plasmoid, so I've opted to fork the plasmoid so that it still will be maintained. If the author decides to come back, then this fork will probably be merged back in to the original QuickAccess code.

I don't really think that anything other than a few assorted bugfixes and a small feature or two will ever come of this branch, but at least the plasmoid will stay maintained. :)

Bugs can be reported at https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/quickaccess.
The latest sourcecode for the development version of QuickAccess can be found at https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~echidnaman/quickaccess/trunk

If you would like to translate this plasmoid to your native language, the .po files are in the source :) Just send me a message if you are interested.

0.9 is also coming soonish, so stay tuned!

Changelog:

0.8.1:
------
-Fix a bug where the Dolphin sorting setting wasn't always respected
-Update default QuickAccess icon for KDE 4.3.
-New initial translations:
+hu, ru (only 19% translated), tr (90% translated)

0.8:
----
-Add simple tooltip for the IconWidget
-Use settings from Dolphin to determine wether or not to show copy/move to items in the context menu
-Add option to use sorting settings from Dolphin; patch by mck182
-Add Single vs Double click setting; patch by mck182
-Revamp configuration interface. Tabs have been done away with and each tab now has its own section
-Stylistic/typo fixes for various strings
-Initially set the icon size to the configured size to avoid supersmall QuickAccess widgets on the desktop
-Forward-port fix from 0.7.x branch to extract messages from .ui files for .po template generation
-Add initial translations for: es, fr, gl, pt_BR, sv, and zh_CN languages. Everything except zh_CN should be fairly well translated. (zh_CN is only about 33% translated)

0.7.4:
------
-Extract messages from .ui files for translation templates

0.7.3:
------
-Add Messages.sh so translation templates (.po files) can be extracted

0.7.2:
------
-Port build system to KDE 4.2
-Port plasma applet to KDE 4.2
-Fix crash where opening a folder before it was displayed (when popupdialog is first created) causes plasma to crash

 Great!

I'm really happy that someone is going to take care of one of the most useful plasmoids. At least it won't die with the next major KDE release ;)

I've got a small feature request. The thing that i really miss in quickaccess is "Delete" and "Move to trash" in context menu. Perhaps you could add this to quickaccess ;)

I've looked, and I don't really see an easy way to do move to trash/delete without a fair amount of work...

On the plus side I did find it was rather trivial to add "copy to" and "move to" actions to the context menu, following the settings set in Dolphin. :-)

Next feature release should also have a tooltip when you hover over the icon in the panel. If possible, I'd like the tooltip to show the current folder, but I haven't gotten to that yet...

I just wanted to say thanks for taking care of this plasmoid. I also have one small feature request. Would it be possible to use just single-click to open the folders? I guess it takes the global settings from KDE, but you could add a setting to the options window which would overwrite that. I think it'd be much simpler to navigate through with just single-clicks.

Something I'd like to see in a quicklauncher is keyboard shortcuts for launching items, preferably as a variable of whatever is assigned to the plasmoid.

Say Ctrl+Shift+Q.

Pressing Ctrl+Shift+Q+1 would launch the first item displayed, ...+2 would launch the second, or perhaps Ctrl+Shift+Q+K, if so defined, would launch Konqueror, ...+D would launch Dolphin etc.

I'm using it for downloads. Can you implement notyfication for finished downloads? The icon could blink or something.

That sounds like a wishlist item for the KDE notification system in general :)

So it can't be implemented right to the plasmoid? I would really love this feature :D

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
