Description:

This is a maintenance fork for the QuickAccess plasmoid. The author has seemingly stopped writing the plasmoid, so I've opted to fork the plasmoid so that it still will be maintained. If the author decides to come back, then this fork will probably be merged back in to the original QuickAccess code.

I don't really think that anything other than a few assorted bugfixes and a small feature or two will ever come of this branch, but at least the plasmoid will stay maintained. :)

Bugs can be reported at https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/quickaccess.
The latest sourcecode for the development version of QuickAccess can be found at https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~echidnaman/quickaccess/trunk

If you would like to translate this plasmoid to your native language, the .po files are in the source :) Just send me a message if you are interested.

0.9 is also coming soonish, so stay tuned!

Changelog:

0.8.1:
------
-Fix a bug where the Dolphin sorting setting wasn't always respected
-Update default QuickAccess icon for KDE 4.3.
-New initial translations:
+hu, ru (only 19% translated), tr (90% translated)

0.8:
----
-Add simple tooltip for the IconWidget
-Use settings from Dolphin to determine wether or not to show copy/move to items in the context menu
-Add option to use sorting settings from Dolphin; patch by mck182
-Add Single vs Double click setting; patch by mck182
-Revamp configuration interface. Tabs have been done away with and each tab now has its own section
-Stylistic/typo fixes for various strings
-Initially set the icon size to the configured size to avoid supersmall QuickAccess widgets on the desktop
-Forward-port fix from 0.7.x branch to extract messages from .ui files for .po template generation
-Add initial translations for: es, fr, gl, pt_BR, sv, and zh_CN languages. Everything except zh_CN should be fairly well translated. (zh_CN is only about 33% translated)

0.7.4:
------
-Extract messages from .ui files for translation templates

0.7.3:
------
-Add Messages.sh so translation templates (.po files) can be extracted

0.7.2:
------
-Port build system to KDE 4.2
-Port plasma applet to KDE 4.2
-Fix crash where opening a folder before it was displayed (when popupdialog is first created) causes plasma to crash

Hi,
could you fill it to Fedora's Bugzilla? (http://bugzilla.redhat.com/ - component kde-plasma-quickaccess)

And please be more specific - KDE version, Qt version and if you can describe when it happens... Thanks

Is it possible to implement an animation when showing the content of the folder? Would be cool to have same like osx stacks :D And btw, if the animation will be done, the background should be disabled(can be optional). What do ya think? Can be done? :D Please! :D

 Easy usability enhancement

The up arrow, most logically would be expected to move the user up one folder level.

Obviously it doesn't.

Right now, it confuses users (I've seen) by taking them to the plasmoids "home" folder (usually their home directory).

A far more logical / UI consistent icon to use would be the "Home" icon. This is universally understood from people using browsers.

All it needs is changing the icon name. Doesn't get much easier than that! :)

 listview on desktop?

When I drag the quickaccess widget onto my desktop I always get an icon that opens the folder content. Would it be possible to add the option to have the list on the desktop instead? Similar to the folderview widget?

 label/name in tooltip

The quickaccess widget's tooltip always shows the same information for every quickaccess you generate in the panel. It would be more clear if the tooltip would also show the given label (or if no label is given the folder's name).

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
