Version Control:  Link
Minimum required   KDE 4.x
Downloads:  2252
Submitted:  Jul 1 2009
Updated:  Oct 20 2013

Description:

This is a plasmoid to show the events and todos from Akonadi resources (KOrganizer, Birthdays etc.).
With a google resource also Google calendar items can be shown.
Also possible with a CalDAV resource.
A facebook resource is also available.

Incidences can be filtered, added, edited, deleted via context menu.

Needs KDE 4.6 to compile and
you need a working Akonadi.
I suggest using 4.7 and your done.

Thanks to the authors of todolist, public transport, rtm.

Some rpm for openSUSE can be found here:
Now in KDE:Unstable:Playground

Mageia:

http://www.mageia-gr.org/rpm/1/i586/

Kubuntu:
https://launchpad.net/~mikevaughn/+archive/omnilinux

There is also an ebuild in gentoo-overlay or so.

Feel free to send translations, feature requests.

Development has moved:
https://projects.kde.org/projects/playground/pim/plasmoid-eventlist

Changelog:

0.6.97
- previous version was buggy in removing items - fixed (I hope)

0.6.96
- check for already existing items to avoid doubled entries

0.6.95
- add contact name to possible substitutions
- filter for collections instead of resources (reconfigure filter necessary)

0.6.90 (0.7 rc)
- use kincindenceeditor if available
- delete incidences via menu
- fix bug with wrong mouse pointer position (wrong incidence selected)

0.6 adds autogrouping and filtering

 Double entries

by dshrek on: Oct 1 2013

Score 50%

I have the same problem as AshkanV. Sometimes all calender entries are shown twice. I noticed that if I delete google calendar in akonadi and add it again, an additional entry is shown in eventlist. When I start a new instance of eventlist everything is fine again.

Possible to try current git?
Hard to test for me as I have no doubled entries on my installation.

Yes, still the same problem. I started the plasmoid with plasmoidviewer and still get more and more copies of events the more I delete and add the google recource in akonadi.
I am running Kubuntu 13.04 with latest updates.

And after reboot?
Sounds like old ones are not removed after resource is deleted.

Is this with 4.10 or 4.11?

It remains after reboot... After starting KDE the entries are sometimes doubled, sometimes not. I have no idea why the bug does not always show up.

KDE 4.10.5

What if you just restart the akonadi server?
aconadictl or applet?

You can also try to wait for the server setup really long.
set the timer in eventapplet.cpp line 173 to say 30sec (30000), does this help?

Hi, setting the timer to 30s works. Thanks!
Also restarting akonadi or starting a new instance of the plasmoid removed the double entries.

Sometimes, on logon, it starts with no events, can't understand what is happening...

Would be nice if you can try current git,
if fixed a bug in last version, should not cause empty plasmoid though.
Also has a problem with recurrent events, also different story.

 Remove Some Day header

How do I remove the "Some day" header? It is showing all my holiday events up to the year 2030.

There are some options to limit the general timeframe and count of repeating events in the context menu -> settings.

what version do you use?
how do you create these events, as repeating events?

They are holiday events. So I'm assuming they are reocurring.

Sorry for the late reply BTW

Hello have you given any thought into including a setting to hide the "Some days"? Would be nice to have the option.

 Issue with 0.6.97

 by H00K on: May 29 2014

Score 50%

I haven’t found a bug tracker, so I’m writing my issue here.

Since I updated to 0.6.97 (current latest release), something odd started happening – and namely that one of the eventlist instances (I use 4 at the same time, and it’s always the top-left one) sometimes when plasma starts, does not load and presents an empty plasmoid that says (translating back from Slovenian):

“This object was not able to be created. Reason:
Unable to find the needed part: plasma_applet_events”

The funny thing is that all 3 other eventlist instances load just fine.

All other plasmoids are fine – just that one eventlist instance dies and it’s quite annoying.

Do you have any idea how to get more info?

enable debugging for plasma etc. with kdebugdialog.
Then maybe you can find something in .xsession-errors.
Or try to reproduce within plasmoidviewer with debugging enabled.

I just enabled the debugging as you described and then replicated the bug by killing plasma-desktop and running it again.

The bug replicated beautifully, but nothing got written to ~/.xsession-errors :/

There is no crash report by Dr. Konqui?
Try to run in from plasmoidviewer, maybe you need to install the program. Then in the console
"plasmoidviewer plasma_applet_events"
and try to reproduce it here.

Nope, Dr.Konqi doesn’t even pop up
I tried to replicate it inside the plasmoidviewer, but can’t seem to – I tried everything that I could think of.

The thing is that it replicates always, when plasma-desktop (re)starts – whether due to a crash of plasma-desktop or on new startup/login.

 Crash report

 by H00K on: Jun 16 2014

Score 50%

It’s probably not going to help, but this is the crash report that happened before I had to re-create the Eventlist settings again.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=272835

I’m saying it’s probably irrelevant to *this* bug, since I can replicate it in *any* way that plasma-desktop starts.

 Segmentation fault

The plasmoid loads fine, but I always get this in the plasma error reporting:

Executable: plasma-desktop PID: 21642 Signal: Segmentation fault (11)

Is this related to eventlist?

If, then more info needed, debuglog/trace, output of Dr. Konqui.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
