 Repo-Version Kubuntu Karmic

by Kelloggs on: Nov 6 2009

Sadly the Version in Karmic 1.0.4 does not work for me on 4 different computers.

Error occurs right after having chosen a directory for saving the images:

Would this be fixed with 1.0.5? And would you have a hand on the ubuntu maintainers to update this?

I have the same problem.
I have Kubuntu Karmic on a brandnew ASUS K51AC-SX037D.
After installing the program I tryed to run it for the first time. It searchs a folder and than it crashes. No other way.

I made this three times. Install, remove, reinstall. No chance.

It doesn't make sense to tell us as an answer that it works on another computer with other configuration (and perhaps another version)
This one crashes.

Is there any chance to get the better version on the Karmic repos ?

Strange, it works fine for me (well, kind of - the videos I recorded with it play back ~2x speed, but I suspect this could be due to the unstable version of FFMPEG I have installed). Which version of KDE do you have installed?

I'm wondering, are there any plans to add the types of effects seen in Cheese? Also, more importantly, have you considered adding the ability to record the audio from the webcam's built-in microphone as well? I'd really love to see this added, as I'm not having any luck recording the audio in a seperate program. Finally, are you going to add any other upload sites? Flickr and Vimeo come to mind. There's actually already a Kipi plugin for uploading images to Flickr; I imagine it'd be trivial to implement that into your program.

Regardless of your answers to those questions, thanks for a great program. I look forward to the future releases. :)

As you can see here: http://dot.kde.org/2009/11/22/digikam-and-kipi-sprint we were working on that and actually we're quite there already.

As for effects, it's on the works, depends a lot on how easy is to do that with VLC, which is our engine.

As for me I'm using the last KDE (trunk and 4.3 occasionally) and Arch's VLC which should be quite new.

Thanks,
Aleix

You are compiling the master branch, you should compile stable.

Master compiles against KDE trunk.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
