Description:

HELP Needed:

Currently I'm working on a completly rewrite of kbootsplash. This will take quite some time.

But I hope kbootsplash will be much better than.

Every Distribution has now it's own class! So I need developers who are willing to help me support their Distribution.

openSuSE is developed by myself but there are so many other distributions out there.

If someone wants to support me, then please contact me!

Changelog:

- fixed some mandriva specific bugs

- fixed some bugs
- changed to the new icon (by dig412 (sourceforge nick)

- developed a kcontrolcentermodule for testing
- the controlcentermodule has currently one big issue, fullscreenpreview in rootmode does not work !!!! (will be fixed in the next version)

I made such programa few weeks ago... reported that to the PCLinuxOS mailing list:
http://thea.hmdnsgroup.com/pipermail/pclinuxos_pclinuxonline.com/2004-March/000996.html

Mine was written in pure QT. and it's very similar to yours. Mine does not have an option for install. I will think about adding one. Competition is good...

Here, enjoy:

BTW: if you do look at my code, please notice the license. :)

i dont expect every one in the world to know all the apps available.

I was thinking of wrapping the app in some bash to detect if it's root or not.

What do you think of adding to your app?

I'am currently working on it.
In Version 0.2 it will be available, in about two weeks.

I use the standard pid functions to test if root or not and implement it.

Here are my plans for next version's:
0.1 - complete the main functionality
- fixing the known bugs
0.2 - Test if root or not
- Delete themes

0.3 - Theme Designer

I'am currently looking for some new ideas.

No it's not the same.

In KDE 3.2 you can change the ksplash, but with kbootsplash you can change the splash you see, when your linux starts. The bootsplash is different of the ksplash.

For example, when SuSE starts, you see a SuSE background image with a progressbar, that is the bootsplash. Then, when KDE start's you see the ksplash, which you can change with the program included in KDE 3.2.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
