 Wow...;)

I love KDE but I don't like the style of it's loginmanager.

I tried to modify KDM myself, but it didn't work at all. Then I found your MDM, and tried to install it: But it failed.

When I configured the source, everything was o.k. - but then I tried [make] - and an Error occured.

"main.cpp: In function `int main(int, char**)':
main.cpp:63: error: 'class KCrash' has no member named 'setSafer'"

Whatever that means...

Kde > 3.1.9* needed. But you can simple comment this line. All will be fine.

... to see a different look than XP.

Seriously, why do people keep trying to mimic WinBlows stuff. Copying stuff from other OSes should be left to MickeySoft.

Don't get me wrong, I love your work. I just hate the WinBlows look.

The idea of modifying or creating
something, is to make it different.

Just my 2 cents...

Yup. It's annoying, stop coping windows window decorations and themes. They are just fscking ugly! GNU/Linux "got" own style, we don't need those crapy-shity-windows themes, because they just suck more then everything that sucked ever before!

Besides great work and idea.

De gustibus non disputandum est (each one with his/hers own taste). it's 2000+ years old :).

imho one should adopt a more positive attitude (along the lines "I don't like this so I'll make my own" in this case)...

Cheers,

Laur

kdm is boooooring, this looks waaay better. thanks for the work and *please* /dont dont dont/ stop coding...

and I dont care 'bout winblows look, as long as it is skinnable (so I can change it) ;-)

windows isnt that bad (sometimes) although mostly it sucks indeed (just crashed windows NT by trying to play a music CD...)

 For godsake

Why dont you people get it through your thick heads that the KDM is fully configurable or use the GDM. Really all this fuss about a friggin login screen is childish, if you dont like it change it or go back to Windows.

The fact is it's a clone of the XP login, way to much like it, but if you like it do it, but dont tellor expect KDE developers to use it for the next version, because they will not.

Lets get something striaght, i'm am not flaming, the last thing we want to see is a KDM like the XP one. It's a direct copy pure and simple.

>GDM
I do not use GDM because I do not have gtk/gnome on my computer.

>dont tellor expect KDE developers to use it for the next version, because they will not.

I do not expect this. I do not NEED this.

What I'd like to see is a pluggable GUI (e.g, style engines) that actually display the GUI. That would be somewhat like ksplash(ml) in kde 3.2.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
