 Excellent!

Thank you very much for this contribution. KDE needed a new login manager.

Now... It is in early stages of development... So I have some suggestions about what in my humble opinion is required to solve:

- Daemon behavior > If you logout you get the login manager again, and again, and again...

- Icons... I am used to associate a "~/.user.png" containing a photography of the user... It would be a good idea if somehow this is made automatically.

- Selection: Does it depend on the theme or is it planned to be Xp'ish?

Anyway, it is an excellent project.
Please let me know if you want help with anything.

Daemon behavior? It's working... But if it not working for you - it's bug. Send me /var/log/mdm.stderr.

You can set login icon in file $(HOME)/.login_icon. You want $(HOME)/.user.png? But why .png? May be .jpg? It's not very good.

Before running ./configure you have to set a couple of environment variables. Type in the shell the following:

export KDEDIR=[where your KDE installation is]

export QTDIR=[where your QT libraries are]

For example, I am running Slackware 9.1. My set was KDEDIR=/opt/kde and QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt3

I hope that helps
Good luck!!

Kde > 3.1.9* needed. But you can safely remove this line. But there are can be many more kde 3.1.9* dependencies.

 Xinerama?

by plawa on: Mar 26 2004

Any chances of xinerama support in upcoming versions? I have two different resolutions on my screens, smaller on the left, mdm uses the larger resolution and places the login screen to pos 0,0 ... looks really ugly ..

When I have 2 monitors, I'll write support for Xinerama. But if I does'nt have >=2 monitors how can I do it? :)

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
