Firefox addon for kwallet

Firefox stores its passwords internaly, optionally protected by a master password. KDE has its own password manager called KWallet. KWallet stores every password in the KDE system, and protects access by a master password. With this extension you are able to use KWallet instead of the default Firefox password manager. It allows tighter integration of Firefox inside KDE.

It seems that the crashes experienced by the users are related to the new Javascript JIT Compiler Called ION Baseline. Disabling it seems to solve the problem. You can disable it by setting javascript.options.baselinejit.* in about:config to false

Version 2.2:

* Change in API, added isLoggedIn()

Version 2.1:

* Corrected a memory leak
* Use nsIPrefBranch instead of nsIPrefBranch2
* Correct problem saving UTF8 passwords

Version 2.0:

* New API, based on js-ctypes
* Select wallet folder based on App name, thanks to Mociej Sitarz

 Plugin crashes firefox

Please have a look at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=246885

When this plugin is installed and activated it may crash firefox during startup on some platforms. This crash happens right after typing my wallet password.

Please take a look at this http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=129715#c385754. I was able to apply the suggested patch but never managed to build an xpi out of 0.6.2 source to test it. Is there a way to help us on this? Thank you in advance, I hope you are still working on one of the most usefull firefox plugins ever.

 using the addon in Thunderbird

I installed the 0.7 version in Thunderbird and set the folder name to 'Thunderbird'. But how can I use it now?

I disabled master password and deleted account's password, but when I say Thunderbird to remember the password, it stores it locally non-encrypted.

It may be a library problem, take a look at:

And let me know if the problem persist

Yes, it fixed it. I set my program to start as:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/lib64/xulrunner-1.9.2 thunderbird %u

(using 64-bit openSUSE 11.4)

I just installed version 0.7 of this extension.

It stores passwords correctly in KWallet but it does not fill in the passwords on the second visit of the page.

I'm running KDE 4.6.1 and Firefox 4b12.

This is the output with debug information for the plugin:

1522718496[7fe859a64370]: KDEWallet::CountLogins() Called
1522718496[7fe859a64370]: KDEWallet::checkWallet() Called

###!!! ASSERTION: Should not call this: 'Error', file KDEWallet.cpp, line 205

I also deleted the old firefox folder in KWallet but it didn't solve the problem

Strange problem, because at line 250 of KWallet.cpp there is an empty line.
Do you have 32 or 64 bits?
Please tell me the md5sum of the XPI you have installed:
$ md5sum kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi
0976fdb7c9f0e29c98d799d8a989628f kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi

No more output from the plugin (even with NSPR_LOG_MODULES=KDEWalletLog:5) and Firefox falls back to its default password storage system.

Looks like this update disables the plugin completly.

Something is broken in lib dependencies of xulrunner 2 in x86_64. Please try now:
$ md5sum kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi
1e59bddf65d5bf4c1a11b142caebbd27 kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi

This time execute firefox like this:
$ NSPR_LOG_MODULES=nsNativeModuleLoader:5 firefox-4.0

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
