kffmpegthumbnailer

   1.1.0

KDE Video Application

Score 79%

Minimum required   KDE 4.x
Downloads:  1065
Submitted:  Dec 24 2009
Updated:  Jan 7 2010

Description:

kffmpegthumbnailer is a video thumbnailer for kde based on ffmpegthumbnailer. The thumbnailer uses ffmpeg to decode frames from the video files, so supported videoformats depend on the configuration flags of ffmpeg.

This thumbnailer was designed to be as fast and lightweight as possible.

Changelog:

version 1.1.0 (January 6, 2010)
- Updated to ffmpegthumbnailer 2.0.0 interface

version 1.0.1 (December 28, 2009)
- Fixed thumbnails not being generated for filenames containing non-ascii characters (Thanks to fedux.c)

Version 1.0.0 (December 24, 2009)
- Initial release

 debian support

by Kwellmeister on: Jan 7 2010

Score 50%

There's no official debian package for ffmpegthumbnailer 2.0.0 right now, so I made one. Please pick it up here:

http://harrys-home.gmxhome.de/ffmpegthumbnailer_2.0.0-1_i386.deb

After installing that the new version of kffmpegthumbnailer works well.

Thanks for your great work !

Regards

Harry

As long as ubuntu doesn't upgrade ffmpegthumbnailer, use version 1.0.1 of kffmpegthumbnailer. There is no difference between 1.0.1 and 1.1.0 only compatibility with ffmpegthumbnailer.

This thumbnailer is far better than MPlayerThumbs. Contrary to MPlayerThumbs, which eats up CPU, kffmpegthumbnailer is light and fast. Thanks for this nice application!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
