Why tabs are big on firefox 5?

by maarizwan on: Jul 1 2011

Score 50%

compared to konqueror, rekonq, etc., tabs are vertically big; could you please consider a vertical size option.

Earlier versions <3.2 had proper size.

Is this second "bug" really a bug? In KDE's apps when you open a new tab, it's also bigger than the other. A screenshot from Dolphin: http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4700/zrzutekranu38.png

Maybe it's not a bug but why not make it customizable? I prefer the same height for all tabs. I find the 'bumping' effect a bit annoying.

confirmation pop-ups: blurry BG disaster is back!

by tobaj on: Jul 1 2011

Score 50%

That effect was introduced AFAIR in very first FF4 releases. You could see it when e.g. emptying trash in Gmail: the BG (in this case: gmail website) becomes blurry under the empty-trash-confirmation-pop-up. Initial version of this effect was IMO horrible. In further FF releases it was altered: the BG becomes now darker instead of blurry - and that is much nicer. And so it was in FF5 until I installed Oxygen KDE - it seems that your addon changes it back to blurry. I like Oxygen KDE for many reasons and I want to keep it. But I really can't stand this blurry thing, it simply hurts my eyes. Could you fix it or (if you don't consider it as a bug) introduce an option to switch to the native FF behaviour?

The effect occurs under certain (not all) FF confirmation pop-ups. I'm seeing it mostly on Gmail web client: when emptying trash or spam folder. I assume that for yahoo, hotmail etc. it would show up likewise. I've seen it on other rare occasions but I can't remember where now.

Pain tabs & new FF button

by Phorious on: Jul 3 2011

Score 50%

There seems to be a bug when using plain tabs, when I close the last one, and it wasn't active, new last tab outer line is missing. If I activate it and then come back to the first active tab, outer line is back again:

http://www.imagengratis.org/?v=errorlneakv1ik.png

Also: I really miss the original FF button, the one which appears in the screenshots of KDE-Oxygen and it's still present if style 4 of FF menu is used (the grey one). The new one is bigger even than tabs. Is there an "easy" way to have it back for the ones that like it?

And last: maybe you have already noted this but, well... the gradient is very very well done, but it still not matching some zones:

http://www.imagengratis.org/?v=errorgradient.png

Just if the case, I'm not intending to be rude at all! It's just good criticism/suggestions :)

Of course:
http://www.imagengratis.org/?v=botn.png

In the above picture: orange is style 1 (which looks different than the one in the preview screenshots). Style 2 and 3 looks the same but light blue and green.
The grey button is what I see with the style 4, which looks as the one in preview screenshots.

Suggestion: maybe the button could (in a few time) redesigned to match Oxygen style, AFAIK, the button in XP and W7 try to match [min/max/close] buttons. While in GNOME, it looks just as any button.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
