Packagers welcome!!

Changelog:

2009-02-16 Robert Hogan
KlamAV 0.45
o Add handsome new iconset from Maarten van Gent.
o Ukrainian Translation from Yuri Chornoivan
o Fix compilation against ClamAV 0.94
o Fix bug #258424 in ubuntu bug tracker.
o Install Konqueror Action 'Scan with KlamAV' so that it works on all systems.
o Fix bug 213690 in ubuntu bugtracker. Whitespace fixes.
o Fix paths when creating crontask. Patch from Marc Benstein

2008-07-06 Robert Hogan
KlamAV 0.44
o Apply a selection of upstream Debian patches.
o Update scan options to be compatible with ClamAV 0.93

2008-04-05 Robert Hogan
KlamAV 0.43
o Fix compilation against ClamAV 0.93

2008-01-05 Robert Hogan
KlamAV 0.42
o Disable and remove auto-scanning of files when they are modified. The approach is not maintainable.
o Patch from "Nadav Kavalerchik" to handle hebrew filenames properly.
o Fix to prevent command injection from Dirk Mueller.
o Fix a couple of compiler warnings (Dirk Mueller dmueller at suse.de)
o Disable quarantining of files that exceed the limit by default. this one is debateable, but it
seems more people like to not have it by default, as they think their personal archive is a virus,
while it just compressed really well. I think this also matches the clamav default, but I might be
wrong (Dirk Mueller dmueller at suse.de)
o Fix the ui for archivelimits to show "default" when its 0, so that the user isn`t confusing it
with "no limit". ( Dirk Mueller dmueller at suse.de)
o Restrict khtml`s parsing and not allow javascript by default in the update dialog. also,
deleting the filelist is too much because it is already deleted via qojbect (Dirk Mueller
dmueller at suse.de)
o Fix https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171414
o Patch to scheduled scan script from "Vincent J. Schiavoni"

 For Suse users ?

In the install manual it says:

----- If you like, you can/should put the command:

/sbin/insmod /opt/kde/bin/dazuko.o

in your startup scripts (e.g. /etc/rc.d/rc.local). If you don't, KlamAV will still load the module for you, but it will tell you what it is doing and ask for the root password. -----

But that does not work for Suse users. How is it done for people using Suse?

Does somebody know how to configure my machine that no user needs to enter the root password to start Dazuko?

Thanks

you can put 'modprobe dazuko' or something similar in your initialization script. I will look into putting this into the installation procedure...

For Suse, simply edit /etc/sysconfig/kernel

go to line 18

add dazuko to the space separated list of modules.

e.g MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT="dazuko"

and dazuko will be loaded automaticaly on boot

 default settings

by FXartist on: Jan 12 2005

I'm having a few issues with scanning and updating on Novell's SuSE Linux Professional 9.1 while using KlamAV's default user settings. When attempting to run a scan from KlamAV I get the following error:

"ERROR: /usr/local/share/clamav: Not supported database file type."

Under the "Update" tab I have the following default directory as "/usr/local/share/clamav" which doesn't appear to exist. I tried changing the update directory to "/var/lib/clamav" where the files "clamd.pid", "daily.cvd", "freshclam.pid" and "main.cvd" are located but still unable to update. Is KlamAV looking for the actual executable ClamAV file or something else?

I have no issue updating or scanning from the terminal using ClamAV commands. I would like to be able to have the GUI frontend KlamAV working if possible.

 Dazuko mod. problem

by DavidiaN on: Feb 7 2005

Ok, I run PCLinuxOS preview8 with KDE 3.3.2 and when I first installed this program it was version 0.91. It then installed fine with the Dazuko module.

After an upgrade to version 0.94 all of a sudden the dazuko module didnt want to install anymore. It was complaining it needed security features enabled in the kernel (2.6.7). But I guess that feature had to be enabled in the first place cuz I could install Dazuko the first time.

I tried to install a standalone version of dazuko but I got the same msg while I didn't do anything to the kernel (no kernel upgrades, no recompile, nothing)

Any ideas about this?

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
