Description:

Just a simple qss file to make docks look
like in the screenshot.... and ofc my
bespin config file to go with them.

I\\\'m merely experimenting so if this stuff
eats your cat then too bad for you, use at own risk.

usage:

dolphin -stylesheet /path/to/dox.qss

example use:
(first extract content to home folder)

cd
mkdir ~/.qss
mv dox.qss ~/.qss
dolphin -stylesheet ~/.qss/dox.qss

Example use2, aka "install":

go to System Settings -> Default Applications -> File Manager -> Other -> Edit "Dolphin" and append "-stylesheet ~/.qss/dox.qss" to the command field under the application tab, dolphin should be launched with the stylesheet by krunner and menu.

example 2 by: Nicholas Aaron S

//Robert

For those interested, full shot:

http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/9905/shotjy.png

Changelog:

31.05

Modified the docks a little bit to
fit better in with bespin, included
the bespin config, and added some
fance hover effects (should light up
like a x-mas tree now ;-)

This modification works great in Dolphin. Few questions though:

-How do I make it stay after I close Dolphin?
-What are all of those plasmoids, plasma themes, system themes, etc? Because it looks immaculate. I would kill for a desktop that looks that good.

Hehe, thx!

Well, I have just created a launcher on
the panel that launches dolphin with the
qss style sheet, as there is no option in
dolphin to "use this stylesheet" I guess
we are out of luck.

The system monitor app is conky:
http://conky.sourceforge.net/

For cool conky lua scripts go here:

It really too bad that http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164955

got marked as a WONTFIX, but the reasoning seems solid.

QSS is still pretty cool though if a bit insane.

Indeed, there should be some kinda way
to easily add a style sheet globally.

Some qt apps has an option to "use this
stylesheet" but not many.

What about the panels, the icon themes, etc? What are those?

Which Plasmoids are those in the top bar, and how'd you make it look like that?

The folder icon is my re-design of the
siro folder.

The desktop system is not plasma at all,
it's not available publicly.

Great style.

But how do you get the window buttons colored?
And what icons are you using for your toolbar?
Your win-deco is looking more 3d than mine?
What am I doing wrong?

 Re: Window buttons

by TheRob on: May 25 2010

Score 50%

to get colored buttons you need to add
this to deco section in bespin config file:

IAmMyLittleSister=true

The icons on the toolbar is just something
I whipped up in inkscape and changed thru
the "customize toolbar" option in dolphin.

windeco looking 3d????? uhm... maybe scrot
of your desktop perhaps ? :D

what are you doing wrong? nothing, except
maybe you are using ubuntu ;-) (kidding)

Sad. However, could we at least know if/when the panel will be avaiable (approximately)? If you could ask the author it would be nice.

However i downloaded your .qss, but it has absolutely no effect on my Dolphin. It only eliminates "File", "Modify" and so on? It doesn't seem to do so on my system (Arch, 4.4)

plus you do use one of the docks shown in
the screenshot? if yes, then please post
output of

dolphin -stylesheet /path/to/dox.qss

Well the docks are what I'm tryin to theme
here, the ones that has the titles
"Places", "Folders" and so on :)

It doesn't seem to complain anything about
not finding the file or whatev... so
please a screenshot so I can see it has
indeed not loaded the stylesheet :)

....and you are using the bespin style right?

On the left the normal Dolphin with all the docks, on the right with the sylesheet. I can't spot any difference (maybe I'm really bumb, dunno)!

try this:

killall dolphin
dolphin -stylesheet ~/.qss/dox.qss

if you have dolhin running then it just
starts another instance with the same
settings.... sry should have mentioned this.

Anyways, the docks will not fit at all
with that color scheme so maybe not use it
at all then.

Your modding stuff is the best out there. I'll take my hat off for that. I also encouraging you to continue on your icon theme, it's brilliant!

Question; How did you remove the big dots between 'Places', 'Folders' and the 'Window'? They are quite annoying and fill up spaces.

through qss.
however i just added a secret option (r. 1112)
add "DrawSplitters=false" to ~/.config/Bespin/Style.conf [Style]

they're required to hint that this layout can be altered w/o hovering the splitter (getting a cursor update)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
