Description:

KNemo - the KDE Network Monitor

A detailed review of the KNemo 0.4.7 can be found at Softpedia:
http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/linux/KNemo-Review-53310.shtml

KNemo offers a network monitor similar to the one found in Windows. For every network interface it displays an icon in the systray. It can also optionally montor traffic statistics.

Changelog:

Version 0.7.6
  • Tweak the dialogs to make them a bit more compact

  • Make the traffic plotter widgets behave more like those in the KDE System Monitor

  • Fix a few minor bugs that gave us wrong values in the traffic plotter range

  • LicenseGPL

    Hi there,

I've used your previous versions under FC4, but the new 0.4 under FC5 complains about a missing unsermake (?)

I've downloaded unsermake, but then its missing all.am (?)

What am I doing wrong ?

the build files (makefile.am, configure etc.) have been made by unsermake - which shouldn't be done (actually quite much authors forget to deactivate the unsermake export)

    just run:
    make -f admin/Makefile.common
in the source directory, this will regenerate the build files (please uninstall unsermake first, else you'll have the same problem ;-)

    I'll mail the author

I've followed the instructions and got it so that it now appears in the KDE control centre. But I'm unable to get it to appear in my status bar/system tray on my centos 4.3 box running kde 3.5.1-1.5. Any ideas how to get it to appear please?

I've solved its non-appearance by deleting the knemorc in /home/.kde/share/config. Then it appeared in my system tray and I was able to configure it properly.

    Great program :)

Remade the build files as instructed. Regular make will now run. Get a zillion errors in configdialog.h, .cpp

If you don't want to upgrade your KDE simply open the file interfacetray.cpp and comment out line 125 like this

    // about.setProgramLogo( DesktopIcon( "knemo" ) );

Then it should compile for you.

Thanks! In the meantime I also received the updated translations for Hungary. As the translations for KNemo are now also in SVN and somehow handled by the respective translation team I am not sure what exactly to do with them?

Does anyone know that is the correct way to update the translations of applications in SVN? Mail the translation teams? Simply commit it to SVN (which seems to be rather difficult as every language seems to have its own SVN branch)?

How do you like Plasma 5?
     The best KDE Desktop ever.
     Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
