Description:

KNemo - the KDE Network Monitor

A detailed review of the KNemo 0.4.7 can be found at Softpedia:
http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/linux/KNemo-Review-53310.shtml

KNemo offers a network monitor similar to the one found in Windows. For every network interface it displays an icon in the systray. It can also optionally montor traffic statistics.

Changelog:

Version 0.7.6
  • Tweak the dialogs to make them a bit more compact

  • Make the traffic plotter widgets behave more like those in the KDE System Monitor

  • Fix a few minor bugs that gave us wrong values in the traffic plotter range

  • LicenseGPL

Latest KNemo stops working randomly. It shows "Interface doesn't exists" error message and hides it's icon even if the "Hide an icon..." options are unchecked. Then i have to restart KDE to get it up again. My connection is OK: cable with static IP, up 24/7 so i can't understand what's wrong with it. Tried with both Sys and Nettols backends. Tell me please if you need more info...

KNemo already had this feature using some special KDE labels but I didn't like the spacing between the different lines so I removed it. I though nobody would miss it anyway... seems I was wrong.

What do you think about a button saying something like 'Copy text to clipboard'? Would that be helpful for you or do you only need single lines from the text?

    Hi,

depending on your X installation there should be a package called something like xorg-devel or XFree86-devel that you need to install in order to compile any of the applications here on kde-look.

So look for packages that have to do with X and where the name contains the term 'devel'.

    i noticed something strange..
when i change settings in the style called QtCurve, knemo's systemtray icon is dissapearing and a popupinfo is showing the message "Network interface is removed" or "Network is disconnected" or something similar. But actually the network connection is still up and running. Either it is a problem with QtCurve or with any KDE deamon (kded) or a malfunction from the new version of knemo. The system-tray Icon may also dissapeard while not changing style settings.
I am using KDE 3.5.5, QtCurve 0.44.2, Knemo 0.4.6, Qt3.x, SuSE 10.1 64bit, Standard Kernel (with security fixes)

Can you confirm, that it didn't happen with 0.4.5 or if you use the nettools backend with 0.4.6?

How do you like Plasma 5?
     The best KDE Desktop ever.
     Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
