 Could not find requested component:takeoff

The plasmoid fails on my system. I'm running the KDE desktop on a Ubuntu (not Kubuntu) 11.04 system. Takeoff is definitely installed from the ppa. I can see it from synaptic. I imagine I'm missing a dependency since it's not a full Kubuntu install. Not sure where to go from here.

Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully the 1.5 version will become available via the PPA. Not sure I want to compile it myself just to test it out except maybe on a virtual machine.

Just upgraded to version 1.5 from the ppa. Thanks. Unfortunately I'm still having the same Component not found issue with takeoff. I even tried uninstalling, purging and reinstalling in case some config files were not being updated. I tried launching with plasmoidviewer as well as adding the widget. Same result in both cases.

If you are using Kubuntu 64bits you can try the deb that @Grindcore has make:
http://uploaded.to/file/uo5wi87d

Anyway, try to uninstall it completely and try again:

$ sudo rm /usr/lib/kde4/plasma_applet_takeoff.so
$ sudo rm /usr/share/kde4/services/plasma-applet-takeoff.desktop

Good work! I don't have any problem with the version 0.1.5. I'm under Chakra Linux.

great plasmoid!

with the latest version is finally working (i'm on chakra too ;)

i have just one problem, in the all app view i see only half of the bottom tabs
i would suggest you in the upcoming version to add a resizable window option

anyway you did a very good work!

Hi! You can configure the size of the launchers of the separation to prevent this

Thank you!

I have to agree with robyshot, takeoff window is enormous, minimum size I can resize it is slightly over 1024x768. For a display setup exactly the same this is unacceptable.

New version works fine for me. Great plasmoid!

Is it possible to add apps scrolling? Now we can scroll categories, but it would be nice to have the same for the list of apps (and jest j know there is pager at the bottom).

Hi! No for the moment and probably no in a near future. I'm focused in more "important" features, like drag&drop icons or search bar ;)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
