 unknown widget problem

by krovachek on: Sep 1 2011

Score 50%

Hi,
I have Kubuntu 11.04 64bit system with KDE 4.7. I made an installation from repository, this refreshed the previous Takeoff installation. After reboot a got a failure message: "Unknown widget, this object couldn't be created for the following reason: Couldn't find requested component:takeoff"
The plasmoidviewer gives the following message:"QFileSystemWatcher: failed to add paths: /home/kribor/.config/ibus/bus
plasmoidviewer(3329)/libplasma Plasma::isPluginVersionCompatible: unversioned plugin detected, may result in instability"
Please help, because I would like to use this great application!

Hi! I use Kubuntu 64 bits too (but not with KDE 4.7) try to download the code and install it. Is very simple, you only need to donwload the current code:

$ svn checkout http://takeoff-launcher.googlecode.com/svn/Takeoff/ takeoff-launcher-read-only

Or the 1.0 code if you prefer (but I recommend you the SVN code ;) ) and follow the instructions of the README file. Of course, if you have any problem feel free to ask

Greetings!!

Hello,
I installed 1.0 from source, everything is working fine but the favorites menu is totally empty. What's the problem?
Greetings

You only need to add the favorites ;) Make right click in the launchers to add or remove it to favorites (I'm working on import the favorites from Kickoff)

 takeoff don't start

Hello, I used takeoff in the first beta versions. Today I try use 1.0 and plasma-desktop hangs. I have deleted .kde4 folder and still don't work. Is possible show a log or debug info with plasmoid-viewer takeoff? I think the problem is when takeoff "take" the application menus, I used fixmime from here (http://forums.opensuse.org/english/other-forums/development/programming-scripting/452482-fixmime-fix-invalid-mime-entries-sloppy-desktop-files.html) that correct many errors of kbuildsycoca4, but the problem persist.

Thanks!

Try to ask to the packager (probably he can fix the problem) or compile the source code

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
