I'm using the one you can download from http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83293 .
The 0.6.6 one works fine for 0.6.8 as well.

Thank you!

I'm afraid I have not been able to test it yet.

Why is it not in the portage tree?

Why it's not in portage yet?

Probably because there is no developer with enough spare time to adopt it.

I guess the ebuild needs still some work to be done, like, adding a desktop menu entry, installing docs, testing the dependencies in every exotic configuration etc.

But the program as such compiles and runs fine for me, just check it out! (Btw, great job, thanks a lot!)

 0.6.9

Great bug: Something is completely wrong with 2d plotting. Every plot looks like a straight line, and linear fit of any data gives y=1*x+0

I just checked it and your bug doesn't occur. What you describe might happen if the format of the columns you plot is other then Numeric. You can change the data format of a column via the Column properties dialog, accessible by double-clicking on the column header.

I hope this solves your problems.

P.S. You must link QtiPlot 0.6.9 against the modified version of the Qwt library, provided in the 3rdparty folder of the archive.

It was wrong data type (text, not numeric).
Thank you.

I used to search for any good pogram on ploting charts under linux. From all soft like grace, labplot, rlplot etc. I found this one is the best choice for users that want to perform anything associated with ploting under linux. If the program had the possibility to split equations used for non-linear fiting into several parts it would be absolutely fantastic software. Real good job!!!

Hello,

Thank you very much for your kind comments! Regarding the splitting of the equations when performing a fit, you mean fitting with several branches equations?

Could you give me more details or some example of what you want to do? My e-mail adress:

Hello,

It is possible to rotate axes labels only for the x axes (top and bottom); use the axes dialog for this.
It is not possible to rotate the axis title.

 Autosaving....

by hlwoodcock on: Nov 16 2005

I noticed that sine version 0.7.1 text files that are opened with qtiplot now are autoconverted to .qti format.

Is this a feature or a bug?

I do not like this feature/bug because I like to keep the text files that I open with qtiplot in "regular" text format. Is there a way to make this an option if it is indeed a feature?

Thanks and please keep up the great work with qtiplot... I really cannot (or at lease do not want to) live with out it!

Thanks,
Lee

Also, for some reason 0.7.2 is not interperting spaces in text files. For example I open the following data in a text file and qtiplot puts everything in one column. This is not the case with versions before 0.7.1. I am assuming this is a bug?

Hi again,

This happens because the default column separator is now the TAB character. So, before opening the file, you have to edit the import ASCII options (via "File|Import ASCII|Set Import Options...") and to set the separator to SPACE.

HTH,
Ion

Hello,

This is indeed a bug. I will fix it in the next release. It only happens if you open the file via the command line using: qtiplot filename

It doesn't occur when you open a text file via the QtiPlot interface.

Regards,
Ion

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
