 0.6 not quite there

I love the features in 0.6, but it still isn't stable for me. Often, the program crashes and the KDE crash handler appears.

I'm running SuSE 9.2 using KDE 3.4 (Official Novell supplementary rpms).

The program compiled without problems.

Well it would be nice if you reported crashes (with backtraces and steps to reproduce) to http://bugs.kde.org.

I'm new to compiling, so I haven't even considered reporting bugs through such means, but I'll have to do that. Thanks.

For your info , the KDE3.4 is not official for Suse9.2.

I have tested this application on Suse 9.2 with KDE 3.3.2 without problem..You can find a version on my site http://home.tiscali.be/raoul.linux/download.htm.

The rpms I used to upgrade KDE to 3.4 were provided by Novell, not from a 3rd party. They were a supplementary addon made for 9.2 users.

Great app nonetheless; however, whether its my machine or the software aside, it definitely isn't stable on my machine.

I cannot find option to increase default 10s time for connecting to server... and thus I can't conect to any ftp server behind firewall. There is no problem with any other ftp client: gftp, casablanca, crusader, and many other.

Settable timeouts will be available in the 0.7 version, when the configuration dialog is redesigned.

well, for me, the biggest flaw is lack of oriental language encoding support on remote side. I have to get back to gFTP when i try to grab something with a filename in chinese or japanese.

Encodings are settable in the bookmarks and in latest SVN you can change encoding on the fly while browsing.

 Editor?

Hi, it's possible to set an editor for asciifiles to work directly in KFtpGrabber? (I ask about directediting, like it's possible in FileZilla)

I just implemented that :D

In SVN as of 14th.

It works by mime type, so if you press view on a xls, it will fire up a spreadsheet.
Txt your default text editor, in my case kedit.
video, it will open the video player.

Currently only works for local files though.

Will be working with remote by 0,7, unless something extraordinary happens.

Sincerely
TobiasTheCommie

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
