Blog post:

*The next version will follow 12/24 hr KDE user locale settings, but needs a plasma bugfix that will be included only in KDE 4.10.3. So next release will come only after 4.10.3 is released

Changelog:

*v0.12 Time displayed as it should be in 12 hr format, fixed plasmoid category

*v0.11: Change category from plasma binary to plasma script, to enable installation via Get Hot New Stuff

 Can't install it

Arch Linux, KDE 4.9.5 and I can't install this plasmoid. It also doesn't show up in the "get hot new stuff" section of plasma. Only thing it says is: installation of that plasmoid failed.

It doesn't show up in "get hot new stuff" because it's listed as a Plasmoid Binary, rather than a Plasmoid Script. Anyway, you should be able to download and install with plasmapkg -i.

Hm. Looks like, it installed, even though it gave me the error message, though it is not in the right plasmoid category (should be in date & clocks or how it is called in the english translation).

Hi, I've fixed this issue. I just needed to change the category on kdelook from Plasmoid Binary to Plasmoid Script. Thanks for pointing it out. Installation should work now. Cheers, Anant.

 very nice!

May I request two features?

It'd be a bit nicer if one could configure day's position (it goes before month in some languages) and text alignment from left to right (or centered) that people may want

For the time being, you can manually edit:

Quote:

/home/PUTYOURUSERNAMEHERE/.kde4/share/apps/plasma/plasmoids/minimalclock/contents/ui/main.qml

and change the date and time zone format line. Below is the configuration I set. For example I use UTC instead of local and date is viewed as Day, Month and Name of the Day:

Quote:

text : Qt.formatDate( dataSource.data["UTC"]["Date"],"d MMMM, dddd" )

Actually, you can change the whole layout. Code is very simple and logical.

Same history here, I can't install it. I am using Archlinux x86 and KDE 4.9.5. When I try to install the plasmoid I get an error, something like "the installation has failed"

 Option for 24H time

It would be nice being able to disable the am/pm stuff for those of us that use 24H time... Other than that, nice looking clock.

Yes, that is the first thing I thought of after it installed. Hopefully it is not too hard to add this functionality.

Thanks flak37 for the plasmoid, it looks fantastic.

It would be nice if the date was formatted following the preferences set in System Settings > Locale - being British I would prefer to see 'Sunday, 3 Feb' rather than the current 'Sunday, Feb 3'.

It installed fine on Kubuntu 12/10 with KDE 4.9.5. I plan to mention it on our podcast--Sunday Morning Linux Review.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
