 Very nice plasmoid

by chepioq on: Jun 27 2013

Score 50%

It's a very nice and beautiful plasmoid.

But I have problem.

I live in France, and the hours is not good (e.g. it's 7.00 on my PC, but the clock say 9.00 ).
Why ?

Stunning plasmoid and a lot of fun to play with, but the time is wrong. Where are you picking the data up from?

 Beautiful eye candy

by arkascha on: Jun 27 2013

Great work, I love the look!
There are two small glitches though:
- the graphics does not scale which means you cannot integrated it in smaller desktops.
- the font used to display variable data does not fit into the reserved space in my case. I guess this is one of the fonts configured in KDE. Maybe you should add an option for an individual font selection for that plasmoid (which would also allow to use a font family matching the overall optics) or at least compute the best font size based on the available space...

Nevertheless: great work!

thank you for feedback

- this graphics are not made in vector so scaling it as is would not look nice. However I can make up some small size as an option but I do not know which size would be good for that.

- option with fonts will be included in next versions, when the settings window is implemented

I think for Kubuntu package marble is not enough. You also need plasma-wallpapers-addons package.

 Maybe a bug?

Hi,

Nice work! KDE G+ community was crazy about your work.

I heard news there and got it installed.

Then I found the widget can't be resized.

It's okay.

But whey when I tried to resize it, the help bar's height was changed. That's unexpected behavior, right?

I don't know how about Linux Mint 13 but with Kubuntu 13.04 the following commands helped

sudo mkdir -p /usr/lib/qt4/imports/
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/kde4/plugins/marble/15/org /usr/lib/qt4/imports/org

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
