Description:

nTPV is a point of sale (POS) system. Although it was initially designed to manage restaurants, bars, cafes, and similar businesses, it's evolving into a general purpose POS. It uses DCOP and nkxmlrpcd for distributed comunications among POS (ticket printing), and uses PostgreSQL as its database backend. It features a fast and easy-to-use interface. Its high modularity and scalability makes it easy to enhance and mantain.

Changelog:

READY FOR TRANSLATION
Compilation and installation system simplified to a make all (tested on Debian and Suse)
New graphics on cash closes section.
Creation of invoices on expended tickets.
Pay buttons can be configured through xml files.
Shorcuts bar can be configured with nTPV Backoffice.
New graphics on historical section in nTPV Backoffice.
Better behavior on products section and screen reading.
Graphical aspect changed.

Have you thought about using this with any touchscreen hardware, your interface looks perfect for this.

I don't actually need it, but there was no free TPV program yet and it's very nice to see this area has been covered at last. When I have the time, I think I'm going to create a few RPM packages for Suse/Mandrake/Fedora, as I haven't seen anyone anywhere.

Although I do not need this kind of app now, I'd like to suggest that at least there should be a English version of homepage and screenshots. Please consider this, thanks

next release of nTPV will be prepared for translations... We are working on our website to support english version of most important sections.

we are also working in a english version of nTPV LiveCD (a knoppix-based LiveCD to test nTPV)...

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
