What's new in this 1.0 version ?
The configuration file is now in the home user folder in a hided file named bdfeui.conf. As I made the RPM I had to find a new place for the language so I decided to put them in /usr/share/bdfe/lng folder, in case where there is no translated files in this folder the default language is french. Another program see the day, updateBDFE which permit you to update virus database automatically (read the README file in the archive) you can find it at http://www.archipel-software.com. Yes It's GPL code, you can have them sending me a mail (georges.linares at archipel-software.com), I just want to know where the sources go. It's all written in C++ and under Qt3 Designer.

When I run it and click Scan Now, I get this:
*pData is NULL

Do I have to run as root? I have installed the latest bit-defender rpm...

This is not a bug from the front end program, if you run the program in command line it does the same thing.

 Update Problem?

by BorgQueen on: Nov 27 2004

Hi,
First off, great FE. Nicely done.
However, when I tried to use the update feature it doesn't work. It says there are no updates available. When I did it from the CL (command line), it worked. Bitdefender is on /opt/bdc/ on my systems (Debian, RH9 FC2). Can you add an option to tell BDFE where to put the updates? I'm not exactly sure how that would be accomplished since it seems there are three possible places the /bdc/plugins can be located.

Thank you,

The Borg Queen

Hello,

Just click on the help button, all that you want to know is explained, where to find the updated files, how to do the update (must be done with root's privilege ) everything was tested with a Mandrake 9.2 PowerPack and under KDE but It also works with Gnome.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
