Description:

KTechlab is an IDE for electronic circuits and microcontrollers. It can perform simulation a variety of components (logic, integrated, linear, nonlinear and reactive), simulation and debugging of PIC microcontrollers via gpsim, and comes with its own closely-linked and complementary high level languages: FlowCode and Microbe.

It has been designed to be as easy to use and unintrusive as possible; all components and FlowParts have context sensitive help, and simulating electronics is as simple as dragging components onto the work area and creating connectors that autoroute themselves between their pins. FlowCode allows users new to PICs to instantly create their own programs, while the electronic simulation allows stepping through a PIC's assembly program inside a circuit.

Debian packages: http://ktechlab.org/download/deb/

Build Recommendations:
- gpsim (see http://ktechlab.org/download/gpsim.php)

Runtime Recommendations:
- gputils - http://gputils.sourceforge.net/

Changelog:

For the full changelog, see: http://ktechlab.org/features/changelog.php

- Simulation support for transistors, inductors and opamps.
- Translations into French, Italian and Spanish.
- Support for SDCC, a C compiler that supports PICs.
- Programming of PICs.
- High-level-language debugging (C and Microbe).
- Symbol inspection in debugger, including mouse-over tooltip display.
- Voltage and current probes for the oscilloscope.

 Compiler

by davidp on: Dec 18 2004

Score 50%

Hi,

I sadly cannot compile it... I tried to compile it with gcc-3.3 and 3.4 but I had no success.

I tried to fix some errors myself, but there were more and more and more...

(ambiguous abs(...) calls, missing "math.h"?, ...)

Which compiler did you use?

David

I'm using:
gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-2)

I'm going to upload a minor release shortly to fix another compiler bug that some people are getting, relating to sigthread.h.

If you could give me a full compiler output (e.g. "make -i &> output.log", and email to david@bluehaze.org) then I can try and look into what is causing the problem and attempt to fix it.

Thanks

I had this same problem - I just included math.h at the top of any files that complained about the abs function and it compiled and worked fine. Very cool program can't wait to see what else is added!

 Qt version

hi, i like it very much and i do use it on my parent's pc because it has kde installed. but as i do not use kde on my personal pc and kdelibs & co are so big in size...

does ktechlab use so much of kdelibs that it cannot be done in pure qt?

thx
ps: i know this is kde-apps.org but...

*Most* of the stuff could probably use pure-Qt. Two exceptions that come to mind though are:
- KMDI for interface.
- Kate text editor.

Theoretically, it wouldn't be too hard to add some #ifdef's to switch the kmdi interface to a Qt one, but the use of Kate is too well integrated to chop it out (it offers stuff like multiple views of same document, boomark / breakpoint setting, etc).

So to answer your question - although it might be possible to add a configure switch or similar to build for pure-qt, you'd loose out on a lot of functionality, and it would be a lot of effort to allow it to build without kde.

This is awesome stuff. Have you any plans to add more components, like inductors?

Also, another cool thing would be an automatic PCB layout generator. Although this would be quite complicated!

Cheers for the great app!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
