Description:

TuxShop is a modern point of sale and shop management application, that is supported on Linux(tm) and Windows-xp(tm). It is feature packed yet still manages to provide an interface that is as simpler than a cash register to operate.

Changelog:

Added facility to order departments and inventory items on touch display.
Added facility to specify change sent for take out orders with delivery.
Added support for returnable items and a report for outstanding returnables.
Added support for "Days to Renewal" on inventory items.
Added support for mailing renewal notifications.
Changed layout for templates and help so more scenarios work straight out the box.
Fixed problems where it was possible to add inventory without a code or description.

Please add another mirror because tuxsoft.co.za seems to be very slow in some parts of the world.

Feel free to make me an offer to release it as opensource. Or you can negotiate a source license.

As for RPM, you can get the sources for rpm2cpio in .tgz format ;)

Hmm. If you are going to keep it closed, I suggest not licensing it under the GPL as you do above...

What is closed ?

Everything is available on sourceforge, if you tried CVS and it did not work then you should have checked the Sourceforge site status and noticed that a whole range of projects starting from about p to z were down.

If you can't find the sources on sourceforge then ... I am speechless for something polite to say.

1) I installed the RPM, but it fails to add any menu entries under SuSE 9.1 - I launched the apps still by manually creting the menu entries

2) I have gone thorugh the setup a hundred times now and tried manually entering a TuxShop user in Mysql - I still get the same error -

Unable to connect using password: yes

In a kdialog window

ideas?

i had this problem too. but i got it:

start sbTuxShop
fill the form out. but in the last window don't use "update configuration files" then you can start tuxshop. first start with the passwort "tux" for the admin.

have a lot of fun ;)

Make sure that the admin password is the database (I assume MySQL) admin password not the system root password.

Also if /opt/tuxshop/share/tuxshoprc exists, delete it, maybe also check /etc/X11 for tuxshoprc

Don't run tuxshop as root (we all know that of course) the real reason is Qt then saves the registry in either /opt/tuxshop/share or /etc/X11 these settings will then always overide the normal users settings. I have tried to make this not happen, but it is a problem with Qt's QSettings

What is an ean-code ?

If it is like a product or bar code then you can just type in the code rather than the description in the vend item field.

With a scanner, just make it add a CR and it will automatically add the item to the invoice.

The big LED/LCD display should display a running total.

Oh and 1.3 has been released fixing a few bugs.

I look forward to the .de translation, kewl !

Hi

I assume that I need QmySql on my Linux box to run this software, as I get database error messages at the moment. I have MySql on the machine, but can't find QmySql - the home page is giving me a 404 error. Can anyone help?

Thanks

The QmySql you are looking for is part of the qt3 libraries. On SuSE this is known as qt3-mysql

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
