ShadowFade at logout

After you didn't really like my last logout-effect (the XPish one) I wrote a cool mixture of the native KDE-logout-effect and the XPish-grayfade-effect. That means when clicking at logout, something like a shadow is falling over your desktop. Looks really cool and is damn fast! (this is why I didn't implement inline-MMX-assembly)

Hope you enjoy it!

Addition: I had also another idea for logout-effect: I'd like it, if the desktop would be blurred until it's completely unsharp after 5 seconds or so. The problem is, that a smooth blurring isn't practicable even on modern CPUs...

- added KPixmapIO as class-member, so that there have to be no local/temporary instances every time, the screen is updated -> small speed improvement

- upload of working patch... :-)
- code-cleanup
- small speed-improvements
- increased fade-out-time to 5 seconds (were 4 seconds before)

- first release

No yet in KDE 3.4 ?!

Wow, that's really impressive.

Can you post a mail to kde-core-devel to include it is KDE 3.4?

Like it was said above, it doesn't introduce any new string and isn't a so big work to include it, but it's pretty and it would be cool if it was included!

You HAVE to write to kde-core-devel! Hurry! :)
This thing is too cool to wait ~1.5 years for KDE 4. We want it now! :)

I'll insert it in my kde for slackware (released when I'll find some hosting space :-/) it will replace your precedent patch

if you could code some kcm module to select the logout effect(the xp-ish one is cool too) would be awesome

As other said, we need this in kde as soon as possible (as this patch doesn't need i18n support, it may be added to 3.4)

 Some feedback

I really like this patch so far; much better than the previous KDE fade.

1) Fading the top is better than fading the bottom. I like it that the kicker is still in color.

2) I also like the placement of the fade falls just below the logout pane; which is at about maybe 2/3 of the screen, which is nicely balanced.

3) In your diff, you note that the variables for this code could be in the control center. I agree, and maybe with other logout code, we could have some simple universal variables to work with FADE_TIME, FADE_BACK_TIME and ADIDTIONAL_DARKNESS for simplification.

4) No Konqi. Like Konqi, but love the logout screen without him. One of my charters is to get people to figure out when Konqi/KDE gears is appropriate, since both Symbolize KDE. I really like your logout selection without.

Thanks for the work!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
