I put the rpm you made on sf and added as one of the "Download" links. Hope you don't mind. Thx a lot!

I recognized that I cannot use some functions of wlassistant because it depends on dhcpcd - is there no possibility to change this behaviour to dhclient?
Fedora/Red Hat does not use the dhcpcd system and does not provide any packages with dhcpcd.

 Cannot connect

by mwonrust on: Apr 11 2005

Hi,

As I'm travelling between different wifi networks, I was really waiting for this great app!! Unfortunately I'm not able to enter WEP keys and consequently I'm not able to connect to WEP protected wireless networks. As mentioned previously the buttons to add WEP keys are blanked out. I installed 0.3.7 both via source and the provided rpm for SuSE 9.2 / KDE3.4.

Let me know if you need more info from me.

Cheers,
Marc

ooppss...forget what I said about not being able to enter WEP-keys. I found out it CAN be done :-)

That being said, I'm still not succeeding in connecting to wireless networks. I'm running WirelessAssistent as root and entered the keys correctly. Still have to go through Yast and enter the applicable values to connect, which works OK then.

Again, if you need more info, just let me know.

Good luck,
Marc

Thank you!
I uploaded them on SF.net, but there are unfortunately no more download slots at kde-apps so... they'll have to wait a day or two til I create a dedicated download page...
Thanks again!

I had to use --prefix=/usr/kde/3.4 on my gentoo 2005.0 system, if not it complaind about missing KDE-headers. Worth mentioning maybe :)

Hi!
Unfortunately not. wlassistant is based on wirless-tools which don't support this and I'm not planning to implement it in the foreseeable future. Not enough time.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
