Depends on  KDE 3.4.x
Downloads:  133761
Submitted:  Mar 23 2005
Updated:  Dec 17 2007

Description:

KDM Theme manager is just what it says a theme Manager for KDM.
This control module allows you to easily add, remove and select any KDM theme you want.

to install:
./configure
make
su -c "make install"

To run kdmtheme simple open K Control Center and go to System Administration
There you will find KDM Theme Manager

Enjoy!

Packagers, if you want your package listed here, email me or post the link in the comments.
Please note that only the source packages come from me. I do not know if any of the other ones will work or are valid.
A Kubuntu package is now in "Universe" so look for updates there.
Gentoo ebuilds are in portage.

********
KDM Theme WILL be included in KDE4!
The integration has been completed and committed! as of 10/16/2006

Theme Designers please make sure to include a KdmGreeterTheme.desktop in your archives. Failure to do so may cause your themes to no longer work in KDE4!!

Changelog:

2007-09-28 (1.2): Backport of the KDE4 version
2007-10-08 (1.2.1): Fixed a porting bug where the selectionChanged() signal was never connected correctly.
2007-12-16 (1.2.2): Actually save things... (I am quite embarrassed about this one..)
Enable saving when you only disable themes. (emit the changed signal)

 Install instruvtions

You write:
./configure `kde-config --prefix`

Shouldn't that be
./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` ?

Without --prefix I run into errors...

 FC4

Doesn't appear to work under FC4. After downloading the source and compiling it the program doesn't show up under in control panel. Using the fc3 rpm it shows in the control panel but it doesn't actually act upon the change one selects.

I've installed FC4 on a computer of mine. However it would appear that they didn't read the warnings and installed GCC4.0.0

GCC4.0.0 is known to compile KDE incorrectly and as a result has been blacklisted.

When they release a newer version of GCC package I'll hopefully be able to figure out your problem.

KDE 3.4 is in unstable (or is it testing i didnt check too deeply on that) but when (on my amd64) I did apt-get dist-upgrade (after everything i like was installed) it upgraded to kde 3.4.2. Check it out!

woops forgot to mention i have apt-get using the Stable, unstable, and testing official .deb repositories. open your main stuff to use all of them and then apt-get update then apt-get dist-upgrade (check in a konsole to make sure that it isn't uninstalling anything you dearly love forever before doing in a real console)!!!

total crap

 Problems...

I'm running Ubuntu with KDE 3.4.3 and i can't get KDM Theme Manager to install, it complains about missing kdelibs4, however i can't install kdelibs4 as it will break my install and remove KDE.

Any ideas??

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
